Olivia Pope is Coming to BET

Everyone's favorite TV drama, Scandal, staring Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope is coming to BET...

BET just cut a deal with ABC to air re-runs of seasons one and two of Scandal starting this summer.

And that's not all. Next season new episodes of Scandal will run on BET just a few days behind their original airings on ABC.

BET will begin airing Scandal with a marathon in August.

The ghetto? But if MTV or VH1 re-aired it, that's OK? SMH

BET trying to come up... NICE

I am glad they are airing the first and second season. Now i can catch up.

Since niggas won't read past the headline, new episodes come on ABC and reruns go on BET a few days later.

never seent this show before, isnt this the one where the white man sleeps with the black women in secret? thats why black women love this show? smh

BET is trying to come up but they still have a long way to go. With Scandal, Being Mary Jane, The Game and Let's Stay Together, most of the shows they're known for are NOT the hoodrat Love & Slaveship type of shows on the other networks. Now if they would PLEASE bring back Teen Summit for the kids instead having 106 & Bullshit as the main show then they would be really doing something!

Only hos and whores (which is the same to me) love this show. Please do not come for me speaking the truth.

The End

Bullshit. They're trying to change their image by taking advantage of major networks but I don't see any redemptive value in bringing this to BET. What? Black adults don't have access to ABC, a BASIC television network? GTFOH.

This aint about no come-up or BET doing big things. This is an agenda. This is for the sole purpose of infiltrating the minds of the young and ignorant. Along with Being Mary Jane, airing this show reinforces stereotypes single, Black 30-40 something women are trying hard as hell to shake and sends a loud and clear message to the 20-somethings who have not yet experienced real life that they too can be successful, attractive, have it all but still loosen their morals for the sole purpose of finding "love" that the Black man obviously can't provide. I see you BET (aka Viacom). I see you ...

Viacom is disgusting and so is their version of black "programming". Notice how they are trying to run the black owned TV One into the ground by hiring all their actors for their new shows and starting Centric which they only offer when TV One is offered...but here's the end game for them...if TV One disappears, then so will Centric, leaving us with BET only! So if you don't have TV One get it, and if you do make sure you give them viewership because Viacom is out to destroy programming for us and by us!

Get that money Kerry. Lord knows the Coons will be watching.

Anonymous said...

@2:24 You tried, but Centric is owned by Viacom as well. TV One's demise has nothing to do with Centric.

Um..fuck BET and every program on it.. They could air the Super Bowl live on that muthafugga and that would be one Super Bowl that I'd just have to read about the next day..

Lmaoooo at "the ghetto".... and as for the "What if it aired on MTV or Vh1?" question, that would be considered the trailer park, you know the ones with the rednecks that marry their cousins. Yeah those ones.

They came out of pocket for real for Scandal...trust me on that!

I know Gabrielle Union is going to be pissed off

BET should start rejecting the horrible images they call music videos from the rap artist. It's not helping our young people. BET is a lot to blame for the sterotypes of blacks in this country. Are you listening Debra Lee!!

I didn't even think about that, but no doubt. Especially when Kerry's re-runs knock Gabby shit out of it's premiere time slot..

"everybodys favorite show"....????..kind of a broad statement dont u think snitch?...not EVERYBODY enjoys watching black women drool over white men....in real life its QUITE the opposite and those of us who know this to be truth find this show particularly offensive...it also sends a distrubing message...black love is in a state of emergency right now...JUMPIN SHIP IS NOT AN OPTION...gettin together figurin it out and STAYIN together is the way...ijs

Listen, I'm not in BET's pocket or nothing but they are TRYING the best with what they got.

They gave y'all Reed Between the Lines (healthy black family) and y'all didn't want it.
They gave y'all Let's Stay Together (different lives of monagamous black relationships) and y'all don't want it.
They gave y'all Mary Jane about a successful black woman and y'all mad she don't have a man.
They giving y'all Scandal but y'all mad she's with a white man.
One day y'all will learn that you have to give a little to get a little. They won't give it to us unless we support the little things we do have.

I don't watch this show now. I will not being watching this show on BET. Not every black woman wants or dreams about sneaking around and laying up with a white boy.

Magick said...

Clearly a goddamn agenda. The show that has the black woman as a jumpoff for a white man. If that isn't the most obvious shit I have ever seen....

FUCK BET

Viacom exploits anyone and everyone for a check. Did we forget Jersey Shore? Buckwild? Catfish makes fun of everybody regardless. No one is immune but I give BET half a credit for making a little change. Also The Soul Man is on TV Land which is Viacom-owned, so they get that too.

Who wants to see the re-runs. BET can ya'll asses get some shit 1st???

Anonymous said...

We Can wach this now in England.. Yeees. Thanks BET

I watch this show for what is the drama that is the Gladiators, the fixers. They have clients that they are hired to fix their stuff! I don't give a crap about Olivia and Fitz! They happen to be a part of the show, but not always a major part. Sometimes they don't even interact and for the record, all of their interaction in Season 1 were flashbacks and a lot of their interaction (sexual included) were flashbacks.

I swear, Black people just dont know what the fuck they want or how they want to be represented. I do not watch BET, but kudos for Gabrielle for getting work off a decent scripted show. Good for Kerry for the success of scandal. Last I checked, Hollywood is certainly not checking for Black women. And what's this shit about interracial dating? Do Black women not have the right to pursue men outside our race? So we should stick around and wait to find a good Black man? Thats okay. Keep your dildos clean, cuz I aint goin out like that. Life's too short and we are worthy of love no matter what color it comes in.

I don't watch it now, but I may now

Finally some decent black intelligent and intellectual programming...I just hope the EBT followers can follow the show? Why is it only taken since we have a black POTUS for them to realize the coonery needs to stop? Welp...better late than never. In true Negroid fashion....LATE! I will be watching....ONLY THIS!#ThatIsAll

How about adding some news programming. How about making people aware of all these laws that the crackers are pushing to endanger and hurt black people? I don't give a damn about adding a soap opera.

@4:01
Excellent points.

YES! I know that for now they will only run previously aired shows, but with racial tensions soaring this show will be cancelled soon, BET will buy the rights, and they will fuck it up, YES!!! #TiredOfTheBullshit #BlackLove

@ 2:41...this is 2:24... no...you tried it! OF COURSE CENTRIC IS OWNED BY VIACOM! They started the channel because they saw that TV One was THE fastest growing station on television and they started Centric to run it into the ground. That is the whole point of only offering it when TV One is offered...to divide their bottom line and destroy the channel...and once they do it's "Bye Bye Centric" and hello 24 hour booty shakin and murder. On BET of course!

I stopped watching this sellout ass network when they fired Tavis Smiley. That was the last straw for me because at the time, all that left for programming was video countdown shows, tired ass leftover stand-up comedy replays, and church shit on Sundays. Viacom had just taken over, ran by a jew, of course, Mel Karmazin. Tavis gets fired and that house negro extraordinaire, Bob Johnson, takes the hit for Viacom, claiming that he-not Karmazin-made the decision to fire Tavis.

Now because you got a couple of double-stuff Oreo cookies in Valley Girl Gabby and Kerry the Conservative Mole Rat, and a nigga is supposed to get excited about BET programming? Sorry, but two of the housiest negro black women on the hollywood market (who just happen to be committed to a couple of filthy rich black men) doesn't score a single point as far as I'm concerned. From the clips I've seen, Gabby's show has potential, but her severely overrated acting skills gives it a fakeness that only birds like her can inject into an otherwise promising program. So the shit just looks like a colorized version of Sex and the City.

BET is like Hyundai to me: I don't care how much they appear to be repairing their rep, you'll NEVER catch me driving one of the muthafuggas..

@1:39 PM - Aren't BET and MTV owned by the same company. BET ain't been owned by Black people in a long while, if that's what you are insinuating.

(It's owned by white folks, they just let Black people work there. :-p)
