Jay Z Under Pressure to Sever Ties with Barneys

Back in July Jay Z partnered with high end department store Barneys for a huge Christmas campaign [click here if you missed that].

Now, after two Black shoppers were racially profiled and unlawfully detained after making legitimate purchases, fans are pressuring Jay Z to cut ties with the fashion retailer...

From The NY Post
Fans are targeting Jay Z for continuing to endorse Barneys after the store was accused of racially profiling two young black shoppers.
Brooklyn dad Derick Bowers has set up an online petition to boycott the Upper East Side fashion emporium and pressure the hip-hop mogul to end his collaboration with it for allegedly making false complaints against Trayon Christian and Kayla Phillips.
“Jay Z should be appalled by Barneys’ actions,” Bowers wrote in the petition on Change.org. “Without his vast wealth and brand power, they would see him the same as they see Trayon Christian.”
Jay Z is collaborating with the store on a collection called “A New York Holiday.” His rep did not respond to calls for comment.
19 year-old Trayon Christian was hand cuffed and taken to a police station for questioning after purchasing a $350 Feragamo belt and 21-year-old Kayla Phillips was swarmed by four plain clothes officers and aggressively questioned after she purchased a $2,500 CĂ©line handbag.

Both were released with no charges being filed.
