JR Smith Fined for Shoestring Prank

Last week New York Knicks JR Smith got caught untying the shoelace of Dallas Maverick Shawn Marion at the free throw line during a game [click here if you missed that].

JR shouldn't have done that...

According to reports JR Smith was just fined $50k for "recurring instances of unsportsmanlike conduct" after he pulled the same stunt at Tuesday's game against Detroit Pistons Greg Monroe.

JR later apologized.

It was actually funny, like playing a prank on your little brother or something, it shows he has a playful personality, he's probably cool with the other player outside the courts, you notice, he didn't react, just shrugged it off. People are making a bigger deal of this than what it really is.

$50,000 is that 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT that I would kill for...

...this nigga spent it on shoe strings :/

he normally spends that on his friends Molly and Alkie Hall

The only reason this was a 50G fine is because it is JR Smith and the League views him as a fuck-up based on the past issues (for example, the Tahiry ass pic). DWade threw a dude's shoe inot the stands. No fine or anything.

Get this weak minded bitch outta NEW YORK.

There's nothing playful or funny about this. He's a supposed grown man fortunate enough to make multimillion dollars to play a game. It's not like this happened during practice. He's being childish AT WORK, he's distracting the other players and potentially putting them at risk for an accident.

@11:06 THANK YOU!

he didn't apologize to the guys whose shoes he untied? weak.

11:59, he untied a shoe for Christ sake. You acting like he pushed dude down the bleachers and attacked his wife or something. FOH. So much more out here to be focusing on, really.

^^ WRONG. Actually, he did it twice. He was warned the first time, then this water in the brain fool goes on to do it to another player at another game. It's not funny nor normal. It's bizarre.

@11.59 I came in here to type exactly that! The nerve of this waterbug faced bastard!

He's a complete idiot. The NBA warned him after the 2nd or 3rd time he did it. To anyone with a working brain once the NBA warns you of something if you do it again they will fine or suspend you. So of course the big dummy does it again and gets fined 50k and his team sits him out at least 1 game. These are some crack baby level shenanigans that I don't understand.

@10:26 AM

But those aren't the type of games you play when your team has a losing record. The joke will probably be on him because they sat him out a game and won against The Heat. They probably don't need him anyway.
