The Boondocks Pull Record Ratings

After a four-year hiatus The Boondocks returns to huge ratings…

Nearly 3 million viewers tuned in Saturday night to catch the premiere episode of the fourth and final season of The Boondocks on Adult Swim, making it the most watched primetime telecast on Adult Swim in five years.

Last month Adult Swim announced series creator Aaron McGrudger was no longer associated with the project [click here if you missed that].

The final season of The Boondocks features 20 episodes.

The first episode was a bust! Uncle Ruckus satire couldn't add a laugh. I'll give it another try.

@8:20 he wasn't on there. I want to see him too.

@8:30 you might be on to something.

@topic I've got to watch another episode as well cause it really didn't make me laugh. I wonder what Chris Brown felt about the episode?

That new episode was just not funny. The white women that uncle Tom is married too only exist in this cartoon.

Jesus.

You mugs are the most irritable, unimpressed, joyless people on the internet.

Do y'all marks still enjoy sunshine, or is that too played out and commercial?

@8:30 please elaborate. I did not watch b/c after watching the trailer, it just didn't seem worth it.

There was no 'difference' in the episode--Aside from the (again) improved animation, it seemed just like an episode from Seasons 2 or 3, of which Aaron wrote or co-wrote & a few eps were hit or miss, humor-wise. Not to mention the series usually starts off kinda slow but quickly picks up, so I'm not surprised some are acting like the first episode was as unfunny as a typical Tyler Perry sitcom episode when it wasn't.

It was okay, not as funny as past episodes. I think the show is much more funny when Uncle Ruckus is shown more prominently.
Uncle Ruckus is hilarious!

I didn't laugh once.
YT love to think they can recreate BlackMagic onscreen and it Never works.
I'll have to go to the DVD archives for my Boonies fix because it is officially D.O.A. On TV.
Thank God for Dave Chappelle!!!

Thank you @Niyabinghi! Within the first 5 minutes of watching I could tell the difference.

Of course it would have record ratings, we've been waiting for years. The episode wasn't that bad and like past episodes, not everyone single one was the bomb.

Basically they took the Usher episode, changed a few lines and substituted Usher for Pretty Boy Flizzy (Chris Brown)! Terrible episode! I hope the next one is good, I doubt it.
