Rihanna's Freddie Gray Protest Plans Shut Down by Police

Back in April 25-year-old Baltimore resident Freddie Gray died of a severed spinal cord after he was arrested by Baltimore police setting off a week of protests and riots.

At the time pop star Rihanna wanted to show her support by walking with the protesters and staging a free concert but she was denied…

In emails leaked to the Baltimore Sun Rihanna's team is advised that any attempt to stage a concert would be shut down by Baltimore PD.

Instead Rihanna showed her support with a post about the incident on Instagram.

Why is it that this sounds completely fake and phony. Just drop your album honey.... your stans don't need you to hype yourself out like that.

I'm so relieved to see there are other people out there who understand this story is fake pr bs. Once again Roc Nation is trying to play on the emotions of Blacks in order to sell albums. This is just sickening.

No I think is more about the press trying to find shit against the Baltimore police and they came across this...there is more stuff they have found out. Like the police inventing the crips and blood stuff.. The signed that's they had in the police van saying enjoy the ride, but snitch is giving you this piece because it deals with Ri. If you read the news you would know that the press is trying to find the smoking gun versus the police of Baltimore snitch knows how much you all hate these people so she choose to give you this so you can start the hate and other crap some of you do.

@D L

Ok that's good that the press is trying to get the scoop on the Baltimore PD. HOWEVER, since when does Rihanna give a shit about anyone other than herself? The first two posters were right in that this PR is supposed to make Rih seem "down" with black folks because the TIDAL fiasco proved Roc Nation is out of touch with the GP.

BS
Banned her from walking? This is America ......

This one has no shame

I call bullshit on this too. Since when has this tramp ever cared about the struggle? Gtfohwtbs..really just GO!
@DL I heard about that 100 day killing spree the gangbanger are supposed to be on and all I can say is the bodies dropping in the street don't lie. It's like Berut in this bitch..can't go to the parks..can't go to the pool hell can't even go to the store without thinking that will be your last breath. I hear fucking sirens and helicopters in LA like I've never heard them before. I mean Sumner always means we gotta hole up in the house with our kids if we want to live to see another day cause the crazies are out hot .broke and bored but this shit going on right now....WOW !

Jesus, why can't these crips & bloods get along? Can't these guys come together and form a corporation on something positive? They are so depressing. Why can't these rap stars that represent their team do a positive concert to think better and do better.

oh, on rhi. I think she is social conscious but the power that be won't allow her and shuts her down. She tweeted save Palestine and that alone the Z..J's shut her down. Quuckly!

Well you guys need to use google and see all her charity work she has going on and she also pays college tuition for a lot of kids. But I get it you don't like her that's cool. She's not the type to put her charity work in your face. She's been helping with building a cancer clinic in her hometown. And yes the police is out of control another black woman was found dead in her jail cell other that bland. Black folks need to hit mug in their pockets and in the voting booth. But we too busy hating on each other, and lord if anyone gives a fuks about us it should be us.

It don't matter either way cause you don't like her but here is some of the stuff she supports.

@dl no I don't like her and nobody ever said her pr team didn't advise her to contribute to charities cause it will look good. About that clinic in her hometown?....I can't call it but I do know her own people can't stand her soooo yea..there's that.

Rihanna isn't the problem here. She doesn't irk me nearly as much as Beyonce and I'm not doubting her charitable efforts in the past. I read a story about her paying college tuition for some of her employees children which I though was pretty cool.
With all that being said, this story reeks of the kind of sleazy, underhanded stuff Roc Nation/Tidal have been putting out over the last 5 months.

This baphomet broad has songs like Man Down and Disturbia and Good Girl Gone Bad even her new video is beyond demonic AND violent but she wants to give the impression now that she cares about black communities she was not raised in nor has generations of relatives you Damn right B.S. is called on every sold out to Satan puppet who tries to profit off black misfortunes and bad record sales. Make a positive song Ritarda And maybe you could sing at the damn fair for free. I never forgot her lyrics on Man Down where she brags I just shot somebody son but now you fronting like you care. No devil. Not today.

Well in Rihanna's defense this could be true, because she's done a free concert in honor of victims before. In 2011, she did a free concert in Alabama to show support for victims affected by the tornadoes in April 2011. I remember her doing that back then, and thought it was very generous of her to do it.

Don't defend devils. They will most certainly not defend you. Where Is the money or food or buildings or homes or rentals they could donate to a cause besides their own lackluster songs? Hi Yawnce. These "stars" need to contribute by leaving the public alone if they cannot help in a tangible way. Hell even the old church ladies of the South in Mlks day did more than superstar millionaires with access to the best. Go volunteer every weekend at the food pantry for a year but Bbhmm not gonna help the streets free or not. Ask Future

@9:09PM-This is 8:46PM. I should have clarified. She actually did donate money to the victims through her free concert. She matched all of the money she would have charged for tickets from her concert to the tornado victims. The mayor of Birmingham, William Bell wrote her a letter, asking if she could help with the tornado crisis. He did it just on a whim, thinking it would go nowhere, but she actually responded and did a free concert. I live in Alabama so I saw her generous gesture with my own eyes. I don't even like Rihanna much, and think she has a bad attitude that will bite her in the long run but I felt the need to speak up on the claim that she doesn't give back when I've seen that she has.

She doesn't have One positive song to sing to Any American community and we know her free concerts if that's what you call them are worthless. No good deed done. She can however March and protest like Real Americans foreign birdbrain.

Wait a minute. Riject cannot sing anyway. She's no Mahalia Jackson Aretha Franklin not a Lauren Hill. She looked decent at the Met tho
