The Passion Ratings Underwhelm

Last night Fox aired their latest live musical "The Passion" hosted and narrated by Tyler Perry to a lower than expected audience...

According to reports only 6.6 million viewers tuned in for 'The Passion' last night compared to the whopping 12.2 million who tuned in to watch Grease Live in January and the 11.5 million who tuned in for The Wiz Live in December.

Previously the lowest rated Fox musical was Peter Pan Live with 9.4 million back in December 2014.

See what happens, Ms Perry when you fucks wit Queen Oprah. Buckle your seat belt honey this ride is definitely going downhill fast and bumpy. Yes Gawd!!

Not lower than Peter Pan though?! I will admit I forgot to watch and record. When will it re air?

the ratings are low bc not everyone celebrates Easter for its true purpose, not everyone likes musicals, and a lot of people don't like tyler perry or his productions. I celebrate Easter for its purpose and like musicals, and I still refused to watch this musical bc I'm not a fan of tyler at all. If this musical was narrated by Oprah, or even TD Jakes, I may have tuned in.

I never heard of this until this story.... and had I heard of it before I'd assume it was about some men making hot monkey love...

Y'all remember Danny Boy from 2pac's "TOSS it up" and "I ain't at cha". That nigga just came out.

Peter Pan was awful - who the heck cast Chris Walken in that role he looked like a stiff gay pirate... I watched 5 minutes and that was too much.

I wanted to watch but RHOA, Walking Dead, then Quantico came on. Should've aired it on a Saturday evening.

I didn't hear about this until last night, and even then it never said an air time or nothing. I assumed it was an actual play and didnt realize it was coming on, or I might have tuned in for a little.

I guess not watching this makes me less of a Christian and I guess not watching this makes me a horrible black person because I didn't support Madea just because shes black!

Never even heard about it until now... #unbothered

Never heard of this musical until now. Was it good?

Plus there was no BLACK JESUS OR BLACK MARY, etc etc etc.
Yeah this play is featured in Atlanta each Christmas season. Flame ON!

First the rumors about Okrah giving him data stating that homosexual themes were turning away audiences in droves now a half ass last minute Jesus play starring all homos wearing jeans and Jean jackets . This was his futile attempt to keep the core Christian audience which has abandoned his ass. Straight blasphemy!!!

Straight up... They lost many people when they added Miss. Perry to it. Most serious religious folk see right through him and therefore separate themselves from anything he is part of.

This entire project felt wrong from the beginning.

Never heard one word about this, not even on black blogs, oh well for Tyler

They didn't advertise it as well as they did Grease, Peter Pan or the others

I saw it. It was really bad. They sang pop songs from the 90s. For example, during the trial of Jesus, they sang Tina Turner's We Don't Need Another Hero.

His marketing needs to be fired - the first time I heard about this was on this blog the next time I heard about it was the tv at the train station and they were like Passion aired last night - after the fact advertising... shakes head drops mic and walks off stage....

Cause mofo's don't believe that shaggy haired hippie is anyone's god. White people made that lie up and spooned fed it to our slave ancestors to keep us docile. A lot of us fell for the okey doke and here we are today.
