Beyoncé Cancels Nashville Concert

Back in February the Nashville Police Department voted to boycott the Beyoncé Formation World Tour in protest of her Super Bowl halftime performance where she paid homage to the Black Panther Party [click here if you missed that].

They won't have to worry about that because the show has been canceled...

According to reports Nashville fans were notified yesterday that the May 5 concert date had been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.

No excuse was given.

Was it sold out? Did Bey have to go stalk Jay?

Issues with local police? Call the NOI/FOI.

I'm not a die hard fan, but I think she was right to cancel.

It had nothing to do with a boycott (I'm from Nashville), and it had nothing to do with the stadium being under construction. She booked to have the show at a larger venue than the ones she had previously performed in when she would stop in Nashville and the tickets were not selling out.

@6:31

Thanks for real, figure she didnt sell out or something.

@6:31- Do you think that's really it? Well since she sold out in all of the other cities, you might be right.

It was a combination of both. Not selling and the police union suggested not volunteering for security. I just talked to someone that knows about it on Facebook.

Tickets just aren't moving guys. Check out the empty seats in Miami.

Easy Nashville is all about music and Beyonce's type of music is not theirs!

@6 :31

Thank you. She went off half cocked. I just posted her Miami empty seat footage.

@ 7:47

Well, it's Miami's type of music. Wonder what happened there??

She's NOT sold out in other cities.

It's a shame Beyoncé is not selling out the stadiums. I think the leading factor is the economic times of today and people just don't have disposable income like they used to but even if it wasn't that I think it's Beyoncé's body of music in itself; aside from a few songs her work is not memorable. You would think at this point in her career she would be selling out stadiums the way Prince, MJ, U2 and even Pink and Taylor Swift have, but apparently she is not. Who's gonna spend $200+ on "Divuh izza female vurzhion uvva hussluh"? or "Haht Sawse in mah bag, swag"? Beyoncé and her team really need to get on it with her songs if she wants to sell out large venues like stadiums and be remembered for more than p-popping and Yellow #6 yaki weaves...

Bullshit some people are so gullible. It's as simple as taking a picture and showing half empty seats at 6:10 vs. a picture taken at 7:10 of a full stadium. Yawn and next!! My friend's sister was there and it was packed!!

If she sold 20 seats, it's more than we have so.......

People are just not feeling Beyonce and her music. Point blank. You have to also understand that this woman was just on tour a few years back with, "The Mrs. Carter Show", and "On The Run" tours. So, people have just seen her! Plus, people don't have money like that to keep going concerts often.

bey was probably banking on that tax income money. but times rough folks don't even want to throw away their "throw money" on concert tickets especially someone like bey who is ALWAYS in the media. you get to see her for free all the time anyway lol. i know stashed mines for my little one in his savings account. i was planning to spend a little to go see janet but then she took off to have her own little one lol. i was willing for jj because she's been gone for almost a decade and i wanted to go down memory lane. beyonce doesn't let you forget her so why bother probably most folks figuring.

Beyonce girl I believe your motive for Formation and Freedom wasn't 100% genuine but I'd rather see you make it than the likes of Adele, Taylor, Katy, Rihanna or Drake. Fake reasons or not at least you spoke out and went against the grain while they have remained mum. You may be a gimmick but they have remained silent and sadly that's even worse.

packed does not mean sold out. her next stop is in georgia. that is not sold out either. the prices are high.

Anonymous said...

Packed does not mean empty.

Anonymous said...

well at least we know empty means empty and that means nashville and georgia is no where near sold.

I agree 9:22. Janet and Rihanna can definitely relate. They both cancelled arenas that weren't as large as stadiums and are the size of an 5A school gym but capacity losses are capacity losses.

I wish I would quote numbers and praise a white person's talent (you folks sanging showll is good massah, yessah youalls mo talented den my folk) before I would my own race. To each their own!!

Leah girl you're not lying empty seats. The fact is why anyone would pay their money to see her if ....

1. She just went off tour a while ago... No new material visually same old onsie, blonde dry yaki weave, and p poppin.

2. Folks can watch her entire concert for free on Periscope or YouTube. I literally saw majority clips of her concert live on periscope. So why the heck anyone spend money on more ish id they see the same old ish over and over?

She is not selling out and police not volunteering their asses to go out there

Hey Fed! I don't know why that person called me a name. I live on You Tube. This is how it looked well into the show. Look up to the right. I didn't finish the video. Might be some empty ones on the left , too.

You can like whatever artist you want black or white. It's about the ART, not the person behind it. People aren't feeling Beyonce's "art" anymore, big deal. Don't blame white artists for that.

Who is the woman in that photo? Because that sure doesn't look like the Beyonce I remember. I'm starting feel sorry for her now. Everything she's done of late reeks of desperation.

I'm from Nashville. I'm a Nashville native. Unfortunately, the new crop of Nashvillians are hipster transplants, yuppies, or people from other cities that realize Nashville is a cheaper place to live. Meanwhile, it is raising the cost of living for others whom have lived and serviced this city for a long time.

Beyonce has played in Nashville before at a packed arena. However, her ticket prices are higher. Nashvillians cost of living is more and people make choices.

The police situation is just a $hit show. It has everything thing to do with the priorities of the city and prejudice.

Also, it is strange to me that because of media, all the people moving to this city, and everything that has happened in EAST NASHVILLE (heck all over), we are only known for country and alterna bands. Many artists and musicians from many genres record and play in this city. It is unfortunate that we are known for this or for the fact that Nashville has a diverse population.

This town has so gone the way of gentrification and backwoods dealings. Let's turn this town into an 'it' city but for whom?

Honestly, I wish Beyonce would say F it and come for those that would go see her. Guess it isn't worth it to her.

Sorry for the tangent. This is all so loaded. Yet so ridiculous.

Anti Police and Becky are not feeling Beyonce anymore! She is her own demise and now trying to save her cheating husband's TIDAL - Dear Lord, read that statement again - save a cheating husband - something not right with her.

Girl BYE said...

@ 3:02 I just saw an article that said Beyonce and Jayz made $200 million from cheating rumors.

I wonder how much of that 200 mill did they pay out to keep a lid on that clown show they're running. You already know Solange got her cut.

@3:30 Hipster socialist yuppies are leaving their typical hellholes (NYC, LA, SF, etc) and are coming to small towns or mid-sized cities all over the nation. I'm a suburban Atlanta kid and I see it happening in downtown/midtown Atlanta, it's happening in Austin TX, Charlotte NC and even Washington DC. These millennial crybabies are pouring into all these cities, with so-called 'urban' planners building all these boxy, commie-style apartments or detached homes that's literally only a piss-stream away in distance, inflating the cost of living for the native city dwellers.
