Beyonce Responds to Formation Backlash

Earlier this year Beyonce caused a firestorm after she paid tribute to the Black Panther Party during the Super Bowl halftime show [click here if you missed that].

At long last Beyonce addresses the controversy...

From Elle Magazine

ELLE:
What do you feel people don’t understand about who you really are and in particular about the message you put forward with Formation?
Beyonce:
I mean, I’m an artist and I think the most powerful art is usually misunderstood. But anyone who perceives my message as anti-police is completely mistaken. I have so much admiration and respect for officers and families of officers who sacrifice themselves to keep us safe. But let’s be clear: I am against police brutality and injustice. Those are two separate things. If celebrating my roots and culture during Black History Month made anyone uncomfortable, those feelings were there long before a video and long before me. I’m proud of what we created and I’m proud to be part of a conversation that is pushing things forward in a positive way.

Yep and ya know Bey has music on the ready. Jay is probably in her head.
But let the lady rock.

I'm digging it. She hit the nail on the head.

Excellent response, but why wait until the beginning of your tour to respond. This should have been said when the police started boycotting her. Just saying.

This woman still writes and speaks like a fucking uneducated black woman. I have so much admiration and respect for officers and families of officers...STFU

Her ghostwriter could've at least made her sound remotely humble...."the most powerful art is usually misunderstood" GTFOH. She's got a crap catalogue with maybe 2-3 bona fide (and long ago) hits and she thinks she's some artistic genius.

Beyoncé hasn't celebrated her "heritage" in 12 years since she took her braids out! This was just another of her blonde, fake pro black back to Africa skits for the masses. Nobody takes Beyoncé seriously including herself!

Who answered that question for her?

Oh shut up already!! Beyonce is the most powerful woman in entertainment, She made a statement when it was necessary. Why can't we as black's stand together for once? That's exactly why we can't grow as a people, as a race. We can't even stand together for one specific purpose at a time where we are publicly being beaten, detained without merit, and blatantly being made a fool of. Our people are being found hanging from trees again in the south. This is bigger than Beyonce and her weaves, she made a statement for us and we should stand by her for it.

OKAAAAAAA..it took her how many days-weeks-months to finally say something....wonk wonk wonk wonk...

@3:07 I do not need BeYawnce' to make ANY type of statement for me boo! When she gets a college degree then maybe...other than that...i cant listen to GED! If she stood for anything her dumb ace wouldnt have a NOLA police car drowning in water in her video you idiot! Yea let that Dummy speak for you and not for the entire black race!

Anonymous said...

@3:18 Agree 100% Why in the world would you think this woman gives a damn about anybody including the police. Never understood why that NOLA car was drowning.

Anonymous said...

git it. everything this woman does is contrived to make her look so damned virtuous
all the damned time; meanwhile, so many really talented folk can't even get put on, the media -- all media-- is so drunk with her kool aid. She had to stand by herself, because next to any others who really got the goods, she is just mediocre. By killing the careers of others, it appears as if she is the only one who kill it, fact is no one else is given a chance.

so glad to see folk can see through her

So educated you fools must be...I have never been ashamed to be black until this year.

@ 3:07, when she stands for others, others will stand for her.

she insisted that SHE is DESTINY'S CHILD, so what she gets, she deserves

For example, look how she went to the White House in a dress that accented and showcased her breasts. I mean, come on now. Out of all things in her closet, she chose to accent her breasts that day in an affair that was for children?

she ain't slick
real eyes
realize
real lies

You black people are hypocrites

@4:05..Go see if the YT race will take yo ace then!.....Every race has there issues..Name one race w/o issues sweetie? Go ahead I'm listening....

3:18 I know that is right, and why didn't she stand up for the women that have gotten Killed by police, That crappie song Formation, was dropped for her to get the attention back on her for her own benefit, she could care less about us common people. She had better be glad she made it, other wise she would be selling fried chicken from the chicken shack around her old corner she used to live on.

4:03 you said it, and it's true. She haven't made any Music History this year , and very little last year. Her air head fans are spending their rent and food money to help keep her as rich as ever, and got the nerves to be mad with those of us who have sense.
who never kiss her b00ty.

Now that everybody has forgotten about formation/nursery rhymes, she wanna bring it back up again. No one cares but her dumb broke stans.

The real unedited, non-scripted, unrehearsed Beyonce would never sound like this. Her real response would sounded more like..."Okay, what had happened wuz..." Mixed with words like "Amazing", "inspired", I'm a Artist", "powerful", "my mudder." And let's not forget her stares into space, eyes shifting quickly circling the room and her famous look of fear, that silently cries... "Please don't make me talk."

BREAKING NEWS!!! White people are tearing her ass up on Facebook. Black people too!

Anonymous said...

What she wanted to, since other people speak and write for her, is she is black when it is convenient...

I have never listened to Beyonce's new single:

"FORMATION OF DESPERATION".

BEYONCE = THE MOST DESPERATE MINOR STARLET OF ALL TIME

3:07 please don’t make this about how she is standing up for Black folks. No, Nope, Nah, Naw, Umm umm. No she doesn't, all she cares about is herself….

7:13 Um choking, stop, the visuals are killing me! You got her dead to rights!!!!

Speaking of standing up for Black people I just read this article. And it goes to show you that some things will never change about how white people really feel about us.

I'm sorry to say this but I got wait for Beyonce to have her, "you are still a n-word" moment.

Mean while RiRi got another hit under her belt with "work" on the charts for the 6th or 7th week as per usual.....

And 2016 will be just another year Bey wont see the charts.... literally Beyonce last chart hit was "single ladies" back in 2008, really no kidding 2008.

Trust after this old lady-fake couple tour Pepsi will place B in Las Vegas so she can lip sync Crazy in Love on repeat for the rest of her days.

Remember J's 360 LiveNation deal ends in 2018 so Bey will most likely been on tour until 2018.
