Fan Sues Kanye West Over Tidal Exclusive

Kanye West is being sued by a fan claiming Yeezy tricked him into subscribing to TIDAL...

According to reports a proposed class action lawsuit has been filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco by Justin Baker-Rhett claiming Kanye West fraudulently promised to release his new album, The Life of Pablo, exclusively on Tidal and then turned around and released it on other streaming services for free.

Justin claims he and millions of others were tricked into subscribing to TIDAL for a minimum of $9.99 a month, giving the struggling streaming service a huge influx of new users and valuable user information.

Baker-Rhett is seeking unspecified damages.

He has a point though! Isn't that misleading advertising! Now they're stuck with that Tidal service because of that gimmick. That whole thing is a joke. I don't know why artist would shoot themselves in the foot like that just to appease Jay-Z.

Why not just simply unsubscribe???

Well he should have signed up for the free month just like I did...Tidal offers everyone 1 month free. So if he was only hoping to download TLOP then he could have signed up for that 1 month trial, downloaded it then cancelled after a month. This lawsuit is ridiculous.

Why would anyone believe Kanye's comments - please!

The lawsuit is about fraud and deception. No doubt this case will move forward. A class action lawsuit will be filed on behalf of the plaintiff and countless others. Anyone who thinks this is a ridiculous lawsuit obviously doesn't understand the law.

As soon as TIDAL was announced I said they better prepare for the lawsuits and lo and behold, it's been nothing but lawsuits and bad press for all TIDAL members since.

makes sense. the supposed perk of Tidal was that customers would be given exclusive access to new music by artists, videos, interviews, ticket concerts, etc. if you sucribe thinking you are going to get these perks and you turn around see that same artist putting it free on his twitter page, i would be hot too. it defeats the purpose and can be seen as fraud. these artists were fools to sign with jay z. now they are flopping left and right because they can't promote their stuff anywhere with now potential lawsuits coming for them.

Excuse me, but Jay-z was named in the lawsuit too. Way to selective report, Snitch. You on the Carter payroll.
