BET Shades Madonna's BMA Prince Tribute

Last night Madonna performed a tribute for Prince at the Billboard Music Awards.

BET was NOT impressed...

Last night after Madonna's Prince tribute aired on the Billboard Music Awards BET ran a commercial for their upcoming Prince tribute and then added at the bottom of the screen in reference to Madonna,  "Yeah we saw that. Don't worry. We got you."

In case you missed it

And prince was more than a one hit wonder. The man made some timeless hits!

9:11..say it, his discography is DEEP.... the b sides and non singles for radio, those are where the gems and treasure are, not taking anything from the awesomeness of the "hits" as well. I really loved Prince, God bless his soul.

Prince...is NOT HAPPY at all with that HORRIBLE So Called Tribute...that Madge did. Ontop of her messing up the 1st line of the song. Damn Bih you didn't study or practice the song before hand

Madonna 's performance was lackuster. One emotionless song and a few bars of Purple Rain. I did a better tribute in my fucking living room. They should have had clips from the Purple Rain movie playing in the background, Prince impersonators showing his many styles throughout the years. Pyrotechnics, singers doing a medley of his hits that we all know and love. They should have had Morris Day and the Time, Sheila E and Appolonia make an appearance.

@9:27 in agreement 100%. Prince had the best music that wasn't mainstream. In fact, most of his unpopular songs were BOMB. I know when they release them songs from that vault we gonna be in for a real treat.
OK about this "tribute"..BOOOOOO!!!! And I don't remember him and her being "friends"..the hell?

@3:14 - You are SO correct. Where was the fair fare? And Madonna? They HATED each other, so what gives?

1. Someone for nefarious reasons is hiding Prince's will he was a business man, about his business.
2. They need Mariah to sing The Beautiful Ones & Adore you because she can hit those notes.
3. Lenny Kravitz needs to stroke the guitar. Prince made love when he played his guitars.
4. Beyonce to since Purple Rain because she has a flat C voice and can drop down there then pick it up with If I was your girlfriend. Not to mention Prince used to really dance & perform on stage with high energy - Beyonce is energy (not even a fan, but at 30+ yrs old & moving like that…yeah)
5. Ledisi and or that girl who can sang but is mostly on social media crying about Idris or naked - a Ballot of any type.
5. Bring out Sheila E to hit them drums and beats.
6. Mix it up with some the Artists Prince let sample his music because a lot of young folks don't know how many Artist he help achieve fame thru slamming beats.

I wouldn't be so quick to think BET is going to deliver an awesome tribute to Prince. First off, BET is cheap as fuck. Second, they are going to try and use younger performers because they are cheaper and they want high ratings.

Two things I MUST request from BET is no Trey Songz trying to sing Prince. And positively NO Stevie Wonder. I know he is a living legend but he co-signed that BillBoard/Madonna tribute. PLUS I'm tired of seeing him on EVERY awards show or musical special singing off key. He needs to take a break.

I'm expecting and/or want to see some or all the following: Sheila E., Arsenio Hall, Patti LaBelle (Yo Mister), Chaka Kahn, Eddie Murphy, The Time (including Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis), Lenny Kravitz, Janelle Monae, Beyoncé (she could really keep her ass home though), Sheena Easton, Wendy & Lisa, Bruno Mars. I'll stop here.

I DO NOT want to see any of the following: Ciara, Trey Songz, Stevie Wonder, Andra Day, K Michelle, Tyrese, Chris Brown, Jason Derulo, Robin Thicke. I'll stop here...for now.

You know BET probably wants JHUD or Fantasia to do Purple Rain.
