Tisha Campbell and Duane Martin Refusing to Turn Over Laptop

Husband and wife actors Tisha Campbell and Duane Martin accused of withholding evidence in their bankruptcy fraud case...

Last month Tisha Campbell and husband Duane Martin were accused of hiding assets from their bankruptcy trustee [click here if you missed that].

Now Tisha and Duane are being accused of refusing to turn over their laptop.

According to The JasmineBrand the trustee in their bankruptcy case requested their business laptop back in April but Duane has steadfastly refused to turn it over claiming it contains personal photos & information, medical information regarding the couple and their special needs children, martial communications and other confidential information regarding future projects.

The trustee is asking the judge to order Duane and Tisha to turn over the laptop immediately.

8:30 - You have to steal BILLIONS to get away scott-free. The IRS will never let two "regular" people get away with tax evasion, lest it empower others to start asking questions about where our tax money really goes.

I'm confused by the IRS comments on this post. They filed bankruptcy WILLINGLY. They are in bankruptcy court. They are not on trial with any IRS officials lol What they owe the IRS is chump change compared to what they owe overall to EVERY DAMN BODY else. There's no conspiracy theory here. It is just the case of two people living beyond their means and now trying to hide money.

11:21 I agree. They filed for bankruptcy to avoid paying the debt they ran up. The court is going to look at all their assets to determine what can be paid to creditors. They are trying to hide assets so they cannot be used to pay those creditors. People do it all the time, they just are not clumsy about it like these two. Forget the IRS, they gonna have the US Attorney's office on their ass.

@11:21 - I understand what you're saying, but how is what they're doing any different than corporations that use tax shelters and non-profit arms to shuffle assets and not pay taxes to the tune of trillions? I'm not saying Tisha and Duane (whom I can't stand) are right to do this, but to use Federal resources for a couple million is motivated by a need to ignore bigger fish, and make an example of little ones.

Hey, @2:56. This is @11:21 again. And to answer your questions

What corporations are doing is actually LEGAL. There are tax loopholes built within the system for them. Don't hate the playa, hate the game.

Now with that said, there are no federal resources going towards this bankruptcy case. This is a county/city level court type of thing. Kind of like child support court lol

This topic really has me thinking that we as a people are not aware of the different types of courts and systems...which is a problem bc we are disproportionately affected by the justice system.
