This is awesome news! She's gorgeous, intelligent and accomplished!!! I loved her answers to the questions. I'm also from DC so this really makes me proud :)
#Teamdarkskin She actually sounded intelligent
Black is Black and congrats from a native Washingtonian.
@7:34 - I watched the whole show. I actually thought both Miss Virginia and Georgia (also beautiful black women) were more poised and gracious. Something about Miss DC rubbed me the wrong way (and I am also a DC-girl). I also thought the question she was asked to answer during the top 5 was skewed in her favor as a member of the military. When she made it to the top 5, I told my mom it was going to be her, Miss Hawaii and Miss Georgia in the top 3 with either Hawaii or DC winning after the final question segment. In any event, glad a black woman won this year. I may be biased, but I found the black contestants to overall be more accomplished, educated, and poised than their counterparts. Kudos to Ms. Georgia for not wearing the typical black girl, pageant weave. Her real hair was beautiful.
Wow for real for real !!
@King of the Welfare OfficeSTFU! Dark skin, light skin, medium brown---who cares! ALL BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL! #teamblackbeauty
