The Real Threatens To Sue Tamar Over Staged Episode

Last night Tamar Braxton poured out her heart about being fired from The Real on her reality show Braxton Family Values [click here if you missed that].

Now Tamar is in danger of being sued over it...

Insiders tell The Daily Mail Tamar Braxton and her sisters re-enacted the day she got fired from daytime talk show The Real for their reality show, Braxton Family Values, and that The Real execs are getting fed up with Tamar and Vince's antics.

Earlier this week, after preview clips from last nights episode went viral, sources claim The Real fired off cease and desist letters to Tamar and Vince and WeTv warning if the episode further disparages the show in any way they plan to vigorously pursue litigation.

Did anybody watch? How bad was it?

I didn't watch but I was wondering how could this come up on the show so soon? Wasn't she just let go like three weeks ago? Wasn't BFV filmed MONTHS ago?

^^ It was about a week no more than 2, so yeah..

One of the blogs had the video. She's telling the same story she's told on the radio interviews. Imo it's her right to tell what happened. She was very objective. Now if what the producers did was shitty and now they feel embarrassed then so be it.

If Tamar just got fired two weeks ago why was there footage of her telling Toni about it. I thought these shows were filmed in advance.

I think it was staged. I didn't see any tears, it was just crying sounds. IMO

if you guys would've actually read the article, the whole scene was re-enacted! BFV thought it was a great idea to shoot this because it happened so recently!

I swear (black) people can never read the full print.

It looks like as soon as it was confirmed she was being let go they called the WeTV production and filmed that segment and spliced it into the episode

If that was squeezed into the episode. Any footage/ mention of "the real" must be in the works of being deleted from braxton family values.

BTW 8:53 insiders said it was a re-enactment, does not make it true.

She's entitled to tell her story. She was fired. Was she happy NO. Did she lie about that NO. The only way a recreation can make you look bad is if you were acting bad to begin with. If the REAL felt they did nothing wrong they wouldn't be threatening to file suit on a losing battle. REAL take your lumps or are you mad because she NOW has her own talk show? Now that's the REAL.

Obviously a lot of people with a lot of opinions hadn't taken the time to actually listen to what Tamar said on the Steve Harvey interview. The other parts of the BFV might have been taped weeks/months ago, but the part with her finding out and telling Toni was real and happened coincidentally when she was still filming BFV so they must've added that scene in, to coincide with her annoucing her great news yesterday on his show. It was still real, not reenacted. You could see her watery eyes and tears. She was trying to not cry at first cause she just had her makeup done for the show (that they were in the middle of filming). It was 3 weeks after they stopped filming The Real. And it was a Sat afternoon. Vince had randomly called the studio/producers of the Real to ask about hair/makeup for the Essence Festival and that's when they told him. If it was reenacted, don't you think that him calling and telling her would have been shown too? Vince looked visibly shook when he called Toni. Her publicists/lawyers/agents,etc... weren't even told. The Real was mad shady and disrespectful for doing her like that.

@8:53
STFU We read the statement. It's just BS that they 'staged' this for the show. Just proves how fake she and the show are.

Welp, she better stack these WE checks now, because besides the occasional non-singing role in a gospel play, she won't be working in the "mainstream" entertainment industry after these shenanigans.

As someone on another thread said, she can play around with News Corp/Fox if she wants to, but don't be surprised if she ends up blackballed under the guise of being "difficult." She's going to let her feelings and her mouth mess up her money.

She needs to take the L and let this die down some. Regroup and move on, Tamar before this issues defines your career. Janet Hubert, Monique, and Katherine Heigl have PLENTY of seats next to them...

@9:44..totally agree with you. Now if The Real does flop and they have to cancel (and I predict they will) the execs will blame Tamar & Vince for airing out how shay they are and not just them the jealous arsed cohosts to. I will not be watching them anymore.

9:44 and 10:18 - I know what you're saying, but don't be surprised. Show business is dirty as hell and for women of color, you have to be EXTRA careful and watch your back (even around other women of color.) This kind of firing was par for the course. The "Mommy Dearest" firing/"We packed up your bungalow and released you from your contract" thing really happened to Joan Crawford.

There are SO many stories of the dirty dealings and back-stabbing, so Tamar should get a thicker skin, go away for a while then come back stronger and with better attitude. If she does the right thing, she'll be able to pick better projects in the future.

As someone else said, this may all be a blessing in disguise, but she's blocking it by not learning the lesson she's supposed to learn.

ITA 10:29, well stated.

@10:29 am, couldn't have said that any better. Agree 100%

Tamar the loud mouth witch is about to be black balled from the entertainment industry. Goodbye and good riddance.

If you watched the segment of BFV for that particular episode with Tamar and Toni she states during the in between showing only her the reason she like being on the show was that she could be her true self and not have to fake it and pretend for the cameras and say those lines like get your life. The Real knew when they hired Tamar, what they were getting themselves into; is that not way the show is called The Real. Also it is very different when your show is cancelled like Arsenio Hall and Queen Latifah versus being asked not to come back that would hurt anybody no matter who you are just like allegedly they fired Holly Pete Robinson and Leah from the show The Talk. In addition, the difference from ordinary people is these people (Celebrities) are in the public eye every day and in every way. I wish her only the best. So Tamar when you fall down you get back up again get back up again…

Shady or not, at the end of the day, Tamar's release from the show is not going to leave her destitute and without ends. I get that she is upset and embarrassed, but people get fired for no reason or bad reasons every day. Even if TR did her dirty, there is something to be said about handling the situation with class and keeping your mouth shut. It's not a good idea to burn bridges, even shitty ones. Tamar's response to the firing has left her looking like a troublemaker and diva in the industry. TR would not have sent her a cease and desist letter unless they have a legally valid reason to tell her to keep her mouth shut. I bet dollars to donuts she signed a confidentiality agreement as a condition of her employment and agreed not to disparage or speak negatively about the show or its execs in any way. If that's the case, she needs to put a muzzle on it.

Tamar is twisted that this bitch was earning a a check! Your working...i don't care where you work for you can JUST KEEP IT REAL! don't let your mouth write a check that your ass can't cash! Fade to black boo, boo... go lick your wounds and come back, with a check mark under your belt....lesson learned well...note to self....STOP TALKING TO DAM MUCH.

Anonymous said...

So Tamar's supposedly getting a talk show? I doubt it lasts but we'll see.

Tamar. Please. Be. Quiet. Relax, and come back better then ever, with a new attitude, & outlook on life in general. Stop making posts about it. Regular Jane/Joes get fired everyday, and they don't have 2 reality shows, albums, or a rich Hubby. Be kind, humble, learn from this, & learn to be quiet!

@10:29 it's always the broke bums like you that have all the answers for how someone should live their life. Do you have PR experience? Why would she disappear when her name and face is on every blog in America?? That's the dumbest shit I ever heard. And congrats on consigning yourself all those times.

That scene was definitely staged. Notice that her nose was different inthe first 40 minutes of the episode and different at the end....I am surprised no one else noticed it.
