Wow. 15 years has gone by. I will always remember this beautiful and intelligent young lady fondly and I still listen to her music often. Such a loss.
Blessed journey Baby girl.

Keeping it positive, but still looking at Dame Dash with the side-eye. Why not make sure she had two planes (one for her and another for all that equipment. And the pilot had a history questionable conduct.) So sad...

Interesting read for those who want more info/context. (And don't judge the source because this is one of the ONLY articles to ever point out there could have been "engine failure" i.e. sabotage. Sometimes an accident is just an accident. Sometimes things converge to make it "look" like an accident.)

I remember I was in a gay club, when I got news that she had died...I cried in the restroom, and my friend at the time ( a straight dude that liked dressing as a woman )....was baffled as to why I was crying for her....apparently, he felt she was a 'hoe' because of the whole rkelly situation, and that nobody should be crying for her.

1:19 Engine fail my ass. Dame Dash and her wicked ass uncle made sure to put her on a small ass plane with a damn coke head pilot that was not even suppose to be flying a damn plane. They murdered her

No jay made sure it happened because he couldn't control her the way he controlled. Aaliyah was reportedly in debt and was sold to dame and then was resold to jay. J bought her thinking he can take full control of her but failed. Now she is all of a sudden gone. He mentioned about the plane crash sing in a line from the song he dedicated to his daughter

My heart still hurts, and today when I heard her singing on the radio.. my eyes teared. I saw her in concert in '97 and would have never believed in 4 short years, this would be her fate. Continue to sleep well, Sweet Aaliyah.

RIP Aaliyah

As someone over the age of 21 I know your star is brighter in death than it was while you were alive. You were on your way but you were no Brandy, Ashanti, Monica or whatever it girl was ruling the r&b charts. It just wasn't you baby girl.

No troll just facts. She didn't live to see her peak. Debate your deadbeat dad.

@4:09 believe it or not they were grooming her to be today's "beyonce" I say beyonce because unfortunately shes the biggest artist out....remember it was beyonce interviewing Aaliyah on the red carpet...
The "I miss you" video still makes me emotional every time i see it.
i don't get emotional over celebrities but there was something "baby-girl"

Sleep peacefully love! :-*

Aaliyah had "star" quality which you can't buy and can't fake. That's why I think we all miss her so much. As someone said, Ashanti, Ciara, Beyonce and the crew can try to fake it and put in as many weave units and butt implants as they want and dance harder than Tina Turner.

Either way they just don't have "it."

@4:09

There's no debate, she was better than all of them.

You tripping @ 4:09. Aaliyah was way better. That's why Brandy shaded Aaliyah in a interview when they were young teens because people were all over Aaliyah and not her ass. Aaliyah was up under Timbaland and Missy ans them mofos made the best damn music back then. If Aaliyah was alive today should would not be where Beyonce is because Aaliyah was moving towards making more movies and clothing lines.

Aaliyah's catalog slays all the above mentioned catalogs.

Why all this adoration for someone that was in the industry for a few short years? Never mind being a bride @ 16 ? to R Kelley - what is that all about? Sold and resold, in debt - come on now get your priorities straight Get on with your lives and live well.
