Israel Houghton & Adrienne Bailon are Engaged

Back in March the Christian community clutched their collective pearls after gospel music superstar and youth minister Israel Houghton announced his divorce after 20 years of marriage and immediately began dating talk-show host Adrienne Bailon [click here if you missed that].

Imagine the buzz in church come Sunday after folk find out Israel and Adrienne just got engaged...

Last night Israel Houghton asked Adrienne Bailon to marry him and she said yes.

Fun Fact: Last February Adrienne Bailon got engaged to her boyfriend of six years, Roc Nation exec Lenny Santiago, but mysteriously broke it off after just seven months.

At the time Israel Houghton wished the happy couple well with a heart-felt post on Instagram.

I read somewhere that Adrienne broke off the engagement with Lenny bc he cheated and gave her herpes. I hope the good minister is strapped up

So he's been married as long as her parents have been married.

I had a feeling when it was announced that they were overseas and he flew her parents out that there would be an engagement announcement.
@9:16 The song is called La Vie En Rose. The most popular version that I know of is by Louis Armstrong.

No one is happy for you except maybe Satan for your demonic union. You SLUT. And the parents ain't shit either for co-signing that shit for a free plane ride.

The only thing I'm mildly impressed about is his use of "cacophony" in the proper context. Second-time spouses have a hard time to go, especially when one of the spouses prior marriage ended due to their infidelity. For that reason alone, God bless this union, because it's not going to be easy.

I'm confused as to what's wrong here. He was divorced (i.e. single), she broke off her engagement (i.e. single), they became close, started dating, got engaged. What's the problem? When she dated Lenny for years people said he should have been proposed. Israel didn't wait long. Now I'm not saying I would move this fast with Israel or that slow waiting on Lenny but what I'm saying is these are two grown folks who were available and got engaged....what's the problem?
