listen... im a student of hip hop.. these old axx ninjas arent worth a tour and you guys knows it... that rap style is antiquated compared to dudes 2 or 3 years after them (cube, pac, biggie, snoop, etc)

THIS IDIOT HERE - you are not a student of Hip Hop if you don't pay FULL respect to the real deal pioneers. today's "hip hop" is Everyone sounding retarded or mentally delayed talking about shit they don't have and can't get. WATCH THEM SELL OUT!

@2:24

You are right. But they are considered "great" like Scott Joplin is considered "great". Innovative at the time but un-listenable now. In 1986-89 rap was switching from b-boy, party, dance music to something more creative and deliberate,and Rakim is responsible for slowing it down and focusing on lyrics and delivery. Don't get me wrong. DEM NIGGAS WACK! But they get a pass because they were at the forefront of what became great rap.

If they come through DC I am there.

Shame I really don't give a ish what most youngin's think esp about music/art/fashion.

@4:11

That's exactly what old people say. It's the circle of life and ur out the loop.

TIMELESS CLASSICS.....I'm so here for this. I'll be spitting every bar w Rakim Allah...Fucc them younginz & their myopic views bc I don't need no chair.

No dear I am right where I should be and maybe one day your tastes will be refined also. I doubt it though.

Would love to see them with Brand Nubians, BDP & Big Daddy Kane

@4:36

It's so classic that nobody ever plays it on tv/radio/movies anywhere and there has been zero demand for a tour in the 30 years since it came out.
Kane eating.
KRS eating.
Slick Rick eating.
Doug E Fresh eating. Because THEY are dope.

Also myopic means "nearsighted" which is the opposite of what you meant. Don't trip though, you get a pass too as an elder.

And 4:38

"Refinement" is only possible when you sift through a large amount of something to find the best. If you stopped at 1989...you missed alot.

Apparently the grip on English must be the first to go when u get up in age.

Still love yall though. I dance on your shoulders. Sorry you just stood on those before you.

Deuces (it means goodbye)

4:56 is correct. Look back and celebrate these innovators because without them there's NO Kanye, Drake, Pac, etc. This is not a question of "old people" vs. What's new. It's about quality. And don't forget, Rakim Allah did not sellout and start that shiny suit sh*t when they dangled all that money in front of him. Google the article when he said his soul didn't have a price...Can we same about the new crop of "stars?"

5:03 leave it alone, cause the disrespect and ageism is just stupid, I mean what are they mad about, really???
Maybe they need a nap. You could not pay me to be a teen or younger or even a millennial for a myriad of reasons.

@4:56 Lil Smart-ass....When you grown you have subscriptions to satellite radio & music streaming services and you can hear whatever your money pays for. Now where you're mis-stepped is Soundscan. Most urban radio stations have an Old School segment that spins classics. Additionally, when travel abroad you'll find they play Classic R&B and Hip-Hop...It's a big world outside the US.

@5:17 & 5:18

Back in the day using buzzwords like "mad" allowed you to walk away from a rational explanation that refuted your assertions because black folks were so beat down that words hurt us. Glad I don't bear that burden but I understand your pain. Also, Soundscan does not track mix shows because they inaccurately ping songs that repeat due to dj's looping (mixing) records. This is also why new artists do not earn as much as their older counterparts used to, because most clear channel formats are 50% mix show.

Glad you can finally afford to travel after all your hard work. You deserve it. Maybe try streaming though...it's free.
