I have to repost this from yesterday's thread because it gave me a new perspective on Black artists and their music:

"@1:08 - In the history of music, think of ALL the white musicians that have sued for use of "one line" or less. And think of all of the Black musicians that have died penniless because their guitar licks or chords were stolen (see Led Zepplin and all the Black blues musicians they stole from.)

It's all about what's "allowable" under the law and Dougie doesn't and shouldn't have his intellectual property stolen without his permission. He's suing Fox as a company and don't get it twisted that he's suing a "Black" show because the showrunner, producers, and production staff are almost all white (who does no favors for and hates Black people anyway.)

Black folks better stop trying to be "nice" and let stuff go all the time and learn to use the law just like white people do.

You want less Police shootings? Sue each individual involved in the shooting down to the police chief in civil court.

You want better schools? Redistrict/rezone the neighborhood and make hood businesses pay their fare share of taxes.

America is all about money and Black folks need to learn to step up and take back what's been stolen, legally."

^^^Or their attorneys tell them to lie. Who cares what they tell us, when it comes to money and contracts it's all about what you can prove in court. And as 9:07 said, it's time for everyone making money off of Black folks to pay up. We're gonna need the cash in the coming years because of what's coming down the pipeline. Oh yes, Trump has plans for us so we need to be making our own plans.

I'm here for this; Black people need to be more serious about earning money and protecting their wealth. How many older rappers Dougie's age do you see living comfortably?

The people they made money for are fat and happy, but Kurtis Blow just had a heart attack on a bus stop a few weeks ago and MC Shan has teeth missing. Somebody with sense put Dougie Fresh on and he has a few side businesses and still does shows. You can't depend on record companies to care for you into old age.

Black people constantly allow others to use them up, whether it's 'da yt man', arab liquor store owners, asian chicken wing restaurant owners, pastors, race hustlers, pimps, the mafia, the liberals/democrats (even some neo-conservative republicans), local/state/federal government, giant corporations and yes, even other black folks...

Most black people will die broke and penniless because they allow themselves to be used by others instead of learning to play the game and take care of themselves and their children.
