Nobody but Tommy Davidson should play him.

I'm sure Tommy Davidson is available to reprise his In Living Color role lol...

I agree with all of you.

I first thought of Gavin Houston for this role, but Tommy Davidson is a great idea.

Davis needs one. He went through a lot of shit in his life because he wanted to be accepted by anyone.

very tragic figure.

Big Sean..LOL
but without question Tommy Davidson is the best man to channel Sammy..

Don Cheadle would be good at this role, too, and Kerry Washington would be good as Sammy's wife, Altovise.

I hope they do Sammy right by this biopic. We'll see.

Don Cheadle already played him in that Rat Pack movie from HBO back in the 90's

Now who really got the chops to play him is Elijah Kelly from The Wiz Live and the New Edition Movie. That boy can sing, rap, dance and act. Apparently he writes and produces music too. Check him out on the Sway In the Morning Show with the New Edition cast members.

I think Elijah Kelly could be a contender. He actually kinda looks like him, too.

Well, Elijah Kelly's people all up in this piece campaigning their asses off.

I think Taye Diggs would play him well.

I agree with the folks on here that said actor Tommy Davidson should play Sammy. He looks like Sammy, and has his mannerisms down pat. I can't see anyone else playing that role but him.

Finally! Yes I Can was one of the best autobiographies I've read. Tommy Davidson would be great as Sammy.
