Shaft Reboot on the Way

A reboot of the 70s Blaxploitation cult classic Shaft is getting a re-boot from the director of Ride Along...

According to reports New Line Cinema has chosen director Tim Story to helm the new Shaft movie.

Tim's big break was directing Barber Shop. He went on to direct the Like A Man series as well as Marvel's “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.”

The script is being written by Blackish creator Kenya Barris.

Richard Roundtree starred as private detective John Shaft in the 1971 original movie and Samuel Jackson took on the role of Shaft's nephew in John Singleton's Shaft re-boot back in 2000.

Obviously, Hollyweird is running out of new and fresh ideas. All of these re-makes and re-boots are getting out of control. "Shaft" is a classic, and is memorable for it's time. We already had a sequel to it back in 2000 with Samuel L. Jackson. That's enough. Leave the classics alone.

How many reboots of this movie are the going to do? This is like a crackhead's mentality. They take that first hit and keep going back trying to experience that same high, but never get it. js

Why don't we wait and see. If it's not worth the $$ . . . it'll die at the box office.
