Tidal Determined to Block Prince Music Migration

Jay Z files suit to stop Prince music from leaving Tidal ahead of the Grammys...

From Billboard Magazine
As the estate of Prince negotiates to put the late musician's greatest hits on major streaming outlets in time for the Grammy's, Jay Z-affiliated companies Roc Nation and Tidal-owner Aspiro are raising doubts about the ability of administrator, Bremer Trust, to make moves on Prince's song catalog....
...The filing comes amid news that representatives for Prince's estate are negotiating distribution deals with the likes of Apple and Spotify. Deals are hoped for in time for the February 17 Grammy's, which will be featuring a major tribute to Prince at the awards ceremony.
In a November probate filing, Roc Nation hinted that deals with other streaming outlets could be a violation of its own rights. At the moment, neither Roc Nation nor Aspiro are asserting counterclaims, but both are sticking to the contention that Tidal was licensed or authorized to stream Prince works.
And no I did not block Longtime Luker but maybe if we all cross our fingers and think positive thoughts LL will show up and bless us.

Fuck Jay z. Fuck that greedy ass, over hyped, thick neck wife of his. Fuck all of Roc Nation. Greedy, satanic, Thelemite bastards.

RIP Prince.

Damn, what's the big deal and why aren't people supporting Jay z in this endeavor? Someone will be streaming his music, so why not Jay (who had a relationship with Prince)?

Because, 10:23, Jay-Z is a front person for the type of business entities that Prince fought against all of his life. Yes there will be streaming, but you know the deal is probably horrible re: what goes to the estate.

And if you think Jay-Z and his 1/19th of 1 percent of the Nets self is anything by a front person/If you really think he's a business man, then I have some swamp land a bridge for sale. (Shot out to the real Black business men out there doing the darn thing!)

Prince fought hard to get his music back from the industry and wanted his music at Tidal. That is where it should stay. Obviously he should have left a will so that everything would have stayed the way he wanted it...Lest we forget, Prince was part of the whole idea behind Tidal.

@10:39 Yes Jay is a front person for Live Nation. In the business world his title is middle man - every time you go in a store to buy something, a middle man has been involved - from manufacturer to store front. Amazon is a middleman for many products it sells from companies to consumers, etc..

I get it 12:51, but Jay purports to be the "owner" of the company, and naive people with no business sense believe it and think you can own a "business" with no actual skills or knowledge.

Everyone knows that street dude with real business skills that now owns a thriving business. Kudos to those men, but Jay-Z is not one of them. He's the negro they pay to show up and sell inane BS money wasters to other negroes.

Had he not allegedly told on Irv Gotti, Suge, Chris Lighty, and Dame on that distribution deal all those years ago, maybe he'd have real wealth and power, rather than the pennies the white man throws his way for being a puppet.

Well damn, 1:36 (In my Shan-Nay-Nay voice)

As someone said on other post, Jay Z is not a business man, he is a man ran by a business

It seems obvious that Prince couldn't care less about what happened to his earthly possessions once he departed.

The family did what was best for THEM not Jay. Same way Jay always looks out for self first. He was outbid so he needs to let it go. He's trying to hold on because he knows after the Grammy Prince streams will increase.

Selish ass that's why he'll NEVER find luck. Whatever happened to that joint album he and his wife were supposed to release?
