Ava DuVernay Interested in Lupita Nyong'o Rihanna Scammer Flick

Last week Black Twitter hyped up a would be scammer movie that evolved from a photo of Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong'o and pop star Rihanna at Paris Fashion week [click here if you missed that].

Director Ava DuVernay expresses interest in the project...

After the idea went viral Ava was asked what she thought about the idea on a recent panel and she admits that text messages have been exchanged regarding the project.

I like Rihanna but I'm not here for her acting skills smh...I'll take anyone for this role besides her, I knew Ava would be down

Rihanna acting has been getting better - she was great in Bates Motel as Marion Crane

...a WHOLE LOT better than that Beyonce' acting

Rihanna acting is improving but it's still cringe worthy. On Bates she seemed deeply nervous or uncomfortable.

All the qualified Black actresses in Hollywood and you want to pick Rihanna? Please stop with the foolishness, she can not act (let alone sing but we're not talking about the yodeling)! Was I the only one who saw Battleship? Girl bye. She is beautiful to look at but not to watch perform any acting. Sorry not sorry :)

@10:23, you do realize that the interest in this flick started as a result of a meme created by someone on Twitter/Instagram. This "project" was not projected. FANS created the idea and the stars (Lupita, Rihanna, Issa, and now Ava) latched on.

This would not be a project STEALING ROLES from other actresses.

thank you @ 10:23 these people think just because they drink the bath water of these manufactured icons and idols of this day, everybody must be in lockstep

She can sing, but can't act! Why is that so offensive. God gave us all something. He gave no one EVERYTHING.

And please, how much love attention and adoration does one soul need to be validated.

I agree with you @ 10:23. This celebrity worship has got to stop. These people are being PACKAGED to sell their wares; whereas once upon a time, you truly had to be GIFTED to get any light shone on you. Now you got some light, you want to hogg it all and believe any time they fart is award worthy or worthy of taking someone's else's job.

People want to be attached to whats hot and Lupita, with all is ______ riding Rihanna, plain and simple. I bet if Rihanna came after her role in 12 years a slave, she would have been salty!

Tell em again @ 10:23

Fans are stupid. Fans elected trump president, soooo.

@10:23

FUCKING THANK YOU!

These fans don't know real talent. Standards have gotten very low.

And I'm sick of hearing"black girl magic" and I'm a black girl. Yes black women are beautiful, strong and amazing but we are not a fucking TREND or Flavor of the Week. I remember a black guy telling me "black women are what's popping now". I told him that black women are not fashion statements. We are HUMAN. Maybe I'm reading to much into BGM. Yes, it's cute and all but there but I am sick of the media always making black women fashion statements. It trivializes us!
