Jay Z's 10 year 360 deal with Live Nation is coming to an end and the company may not re-up...

According to reports Jay Z and Live Nation may be ending their Roc Nation partnership as Live Nation is no longer in the business of buying recorded music.

Insiders tell Page Six while Live Nation is still interested in a touring deal with Jay, the rapper has been actively seeking new partners for his Roc Nation record label.

Roc Nation artists include Jay Z, Rihanna, Meek Mill, Fat Joe and Shakira.

The $150 million Roc Nation deal with Live Nation expires in 2018.

I don't know why I thought Roc Nation had more artists than that. The only one bringing in revenue is Rihanna.

@ Chrissy snow I thought bey and jay were the most lucrative? not rihanna

I was referring to Jay's weak stable of recording artists. Jay is signed to Livenation and Bey is signed to Sony(I think). Seems like Rihanna's 360 deal revenue is what's keeping the lights on over there. She needs to leave.

@Kiki L Bey isn't signed to Roc Nation . When the last time Jay Z did a solo album it's been a minute.

Honestly what does roc nation need live nation for anymore? Seems like they would have known how much runway they had and AS A LABEL and would have prepared for their own exit gracefully. They shouldn't need a holding company also eating off of pofits anymore. A tour deal makes sense. I just can't imagine wtf they would even do to support a release besides providing a budget. After 10 years youd think jay would have squirreled enough away to boss up and move forward fully independent. One hit record they don't have to split with anyone else but the artist, that would fiscallly be more lucrative in the end. All they need is a distro deal (no 360 -- sheesh!) no advance beyond manufacturing of physicals and filling orders for the likes of walmart.

My two cents from someone in the industry.

I own stock in live nation and they have done well market wise with this stable of artist. Their stock was low price before they added Jay (in the $2 range) and blow up once they added him. ($30s) Don't know why they want to change now...mmm I might have to sell my stock before it starts slipping.

Live nation deals in concerts and shows. That's how they make money money. They are not a "record" company.

Thanks for the insight, 9:30, but we all know Jay-Z has no business acumen. Dame Dash and the late Chris Lighty had the actual talent and business sense. Jay-Z just likes to sit at the table and "look" like he knows what he's doing. Hopefully one day he'll pay for allegedly ruining that all-Black distribution deal they were all planning. He allegedly ran back and told Lyor Cohen who squashed it...

Thanks for the info, DL and 9:30. So is Jay a Roc Nation artist, Def Jam or both? I have my suspicions but we will find out for sure how much of a boss Jay really is with this next move.

Camron is somewhere laughing at Jim Jones...

Wait, so J Cole jumped ship? LMAO good move dude. I'm convinced "false idols" was directed at Jay and not Kanye. Think I was right.

Jay-z will sign with live nation again. He owes too much money. He doesn't have business sense and is only used as a figure head to lure other artists into the web. He and his wife are cash poor and owe alot of money behind the scenes. Neither one is selling like they used to but they continue to trade on their name alone. But when your isn't hot like it was, you still have to pay up. They don't have any viable assets to leverage. They rent alot of property. The artwork isn't worth much. Most of the jewerly is fake. Everything you see isn't real. He should have kept Dame Dash around but his feeling got hurt when Aayilah choose Dame. He let Biggs go to jail for drugs when he could have helped him. He has done some shady things in the name of "business". Makes you wonder who's going to help him.
