The REAL Reason Stephen Hill Left BET?

Last week BET fans were shocked after program director Stephen Hill stepped down after nearly 20 years to pursue "other interests [click here if you missed that]."

Is the REAL reason Stephen left much more sinister...?

Sure sounds like it.

Insiders tell B. Scott
“Stephen had many HR issues and pending lawsuits — from harassment to creating a hostile work environment to garden variety discrimination and intimidation complaints. Tons of complainants against him.”
Hill had been with BET parent company Viacom since 1999.

I've heard that this guy is a piece of work! But look at him. He looks like a sly, egotistical little weasel.

He got me my first industry check. All business, no drama. I guess you never know though. Look at Cosby.

here was a intern, brotha, who used to work for BET . dude said Hill was gay and preyed on young cats in exchange for promotions and plum assignments.

Thank goodness!! Get rid of this guy and bring back College Hill!!

Old Stevie Boy was originally an MTV Exec back in the day and that is where he started....Not at BET. He bounced to BET when MTV purchased BET because there were few minority based shows based shows on after TRL MTV Jams and Rap City. He became a top dog at BET and let it Rock with Debra. I think he finally all wore out his welcome and it was time to go.

I heard my stories about him trying to seduce young black males at the station.

He drove BET into the toilet with his hormone driven programming

@10:06 I was thinking that it was something along those lines.

Maybe there was some extra incriminating evidence so it was in his best interest to step down.

BET tanked when Viacom bought it.

It use to be ALL black shows with ALL black commercials and black news segments about black people worldwide.

Now the majority of the new shows are just a bunch a black "images" of how they want to see us / what entertains them.

Under the false premise of "Mass Market" Appeal

He's the same one Rihanna threw money in his face before hitting the stage.

12:33 ita w you re:BET tanking. BET was something to be proud of back in the day! Remember Teen Summit, Video Soul, Screen Scene, and Midnight Love?

Remember wanting to be like Sherri Carter and Madeline Woods when you grew up? Remember thinking Donnie Simpson was so cool? Remember BET being the saving grace of black america when all we had before was Saturday morning Soul Train and Saturday nite Apollo? We had a whole channel of nothing but us, all day, all night.

I literally cried when I saw the tip drill video being played every night. I knew our channel was OVER.

IS THERE A WAY TO GET BET BACK FROM VIACOM
OR SHOULD I SAY HOW MUCH IN $$$$$$$$$...??

@1:08 from 12:33 EXACTLY

It use to freel like it was OUR channel.

Like a paid for house with well kept Landscaping and ALL bills current.

Now it's like an Overpriced run-down slum with an raggedy window blinds.

Your comment made me take a walk down memory lane and now I'm feeling all nostalgic.

It use to feel like Ours...

But as per usual they hate to see US shine or outdo them.

106 & park vs TRL...No comparison

The whole dismantling of BET was just like the average CORPORATE Takeover.

When Big Companies buy small companies, it's because they want their clients/ customers AND to eliminate the threat of competition.

Wouldn't it be nice if some of these Black NBA/NFL, Rappers, Entertainers would pool a portion of their Resources and buy it back and Revamp it.

Wishful thinking on my part...

@3:18
I agreed with everything, but your last comment. F*ck buying it back! Start something new. TVOne and Centric are giving it a good shot.

They will not let you buy anything back or have any real power. Just keep posting pictures on IG and buy longer blonde weaves.

Karma caught you real good. I heard you be forcing brothers into compromising situations for support from Bet. Shame on you.

Yes, BET was "ours" & we loved & supported BET...but the true essence *soul* of BET was lost when it was solder. It was about uplifting our people... I am hard pressed to watch any show on BET...and haven't for a while.
