Tristian Wilds Clarifies Shots Fired Cancellation

Earlier this week news leaked that Shots Fired, starring Sanaa Lathan had been canceled after one season on Fox [click here if you missed that].

Not quite...

Shots Fired star Tristan Wilds tells Hip Hollywood,
“It was originally made to be one season like a 10 hour movie. But we are not canceled we are just finishing up the story.”

Translation: I hope BET or Bounce picks it up so I can still get a paycheck.

Yeah right and R Kelly loves women is own age we believe you. Anything with
Sanaa Lathan
Vivica fox
Tisha campbell
Jada pickett
Gabrielle Union
Monique
Queen Latifah

Getting cancelled. They don't have enough power or talent to hold a audience. Any time you go from the big screen to the little screen you suck and ain't worth paying

I get it. It's like American Crime Story. Each season there's a different topic and the actors play a different character. I actually like 'Shots Fired' and 'American Crime Story'. They've replaced my reality TV programming.

It was known before it aired that it was meant for one season. If you watch the show you would know that there is nowhere to go with the story line after last night.

Not exactly. If FOX wanted a season 2 you better damn well believe there would be a season 2! They would most likely have the two leads go to another town though for a new storyline.

Love this show, it was The Truth on so many levels. The ending when both boys bump into each other was inspirational and educational.

I couldn't get into this. It felt like profitizing off the black communites pain. Just flipping the victim.

12:03..Geez.Slice, it dice it anyway you want. It was only suppose to be for one season. I read hat before it even aired.

If this show got Empire season ONE type ratings do you really think they would cancel it??? Get real. Who cares what you read. Bottom line is the ratings sucked so it got the ax....bye

The show was good! Some people can't break out of the ratchet TV cycle a well put together drama just won't suffice.

IMO the show was good. I'm sick of the scripted drama bs they show now. If it's not ratchet then it doesn't get any play and that's sad on all levels.

Just an observation said...

It was supposed to be 1 season. Move on with the conspiracy theory sheeps.

Right, they stated from the beginning, before the show aired it was only for one season to touch on the issues we are dealing with now in society regarding police brutality and race. However, it would be great if they spin the show like American Crime etc.

Of course before it aired they said it's only for one season. Duh. They are going to say that. Halle said the same thing about her flop space drama that nobody watched. They are going to say that because nowadays you just dont know what will be a hit or not. Its all BS.

Thanks to the Dump/Trump...The struggle is real. ~ Signed: Every last black actress in Hollywood.

Will division and dismission become more troublesome for blacks than any time in history?

IDK media outlets are reporting it was cancelled. This was marketed similar to that 6 part OJ movie. It was never produced as a new series with hopes of being picked up. I think more networks will do this with good ideas that aren't great, but stories good enough to tell in a season or two tops. It's a great idea.

Shots Fired was a really good show, btw.
