I do think there will be fans who say, ‘I’m not going to watch 24 without Jack’ and people who will watch it warily. Much has obviously changed in the last 5 years in terms of how we watch television, so some of the drop-off can be explained by that evolution.
An argument could be made that no matter who the series lead was, audience interest would've been about the same as it is now. Corey Hawkins is not believable in the role of a war veteran with high credentials. Too lightweight for the role, doesn't have the deep intensity that Keifer Sutherland bought to it and he's way too young. He looks like a kid. To the above poster… 11:48 am...It seems you never watched the original series that ran for 9 seasons. Do some homework before you play your race card.

We're always complaining that there are not enough of us on television or in more significantly dramatic roles. However, whenever we have shows where we are the lead, no one watches. We can't have it both ways. If you want to see more of us, then support those efforts.

I watched this and it was good, not great but very good.

This child should not have received this role. I knew by watching the promo's that he would be a terrible fit. I COMPLETELY agree with @12:05!! Even the people who did not care for a black lead, might have watched if he looked more believable.

@ 11:48 I concur.

However, I didn't care for the original show either.

@12:05 Blame casting, whom I'm sure was white.

They need to scrap it all together IMO

@12:51 AM The show Atlanta will be back on FOX. It is not that we don't watch our folks on TV, it is the content that we watch them. If it funny, fighting, cursing and drama you best believe those shows will have high rating but this show..."No" these shows like this(i.e CSI with Bow Wow) failed too. It's the channel that series come on and time and also it is not totally for us. These shows like this will always get cancelled if there are black actors.

I loved the original 24. Season 4 was my favorite --- Air Force One shot down, Charles Logan becomes President; EMP blackout; CTU's covert assault on the Chinese Embassy; Audrey Heller and her father Senator Heller kidnapped; Former President David Palmer uncovers widespread gov't corruption; Devious ass Sherry Palmer; The Araz family (Behrooz) is a terrorist cell; Aisha Tyler from The Talk is mole in CTU; The power plant meltdown; Erin Driscoll's schizophrenic daughter; Chloe O'Brian in the field taking out a terrorist with an AK-47---- and that's just half of the stuff that happened in one season.

24 Legacy did not live up to that type of suspense and plot twists. The lead was just weak and boring to me...he did not have a presence or intensity and was not believable (and his wife's weave was always looking like it was going to slide off her head. LOL).

If they want to continue with another Black actor I would suggest Ricky Whittle from American Gods or Boris Kodjoe or Derek Luke.

Corey was actually good in this. Corey will be just fine. He is already doing theater and will land another big role

For a 12 episode filer...I was entertained. I liked Corey in the role. Now let's see if Heath actually shows back up on The Walking Dead cause he has been missing in action since the early part of last season...
