John McEnroe Regrets Serena Williams Comments

Earlier this week retired tennis player John McEnroe angered Serena Williams fans after he said she'd be ranked 700th if she played against men [click here if you missed that].

Stopping short of an apology, McEnroe expresses regret for the statement...

John McEnroe tells ESPN
“It would have been better not to have said it. I didn’t realize it would create something like this.”
“It would have been easier to leave it. Look, she’s a great player and it’s apples and oranges.”

If he'd have said "yes, she's the best" re: the men's circuit there are people who would have said he was calling her masculine. He was damned either way and the host knew what she was doing.

I don't care for McEnroe but lets not forget his "let them live" statements when Venus and Serena were getting racism from all ends of the Women's Tennis Circuit early in their careers. This whole thing feels inorganic and like someone is trying to cause another rift between Black and White people.

He is promoting HIS book, Serena has nothing to do with it ! He shouldn't have mentioned her in the first place.

John sit down ain't nobody checking for you or that book. The reality is white folks staying trying to get shine of black folks who are famous. What he didn't know was Serena has loyal fan's who will drag a hoe coming for her on covert or overt slickness. That world of tennis is racist anyway and we know they don't like us.
