Simon Cowell Bans Jennifer Hudson Songs

Last year there were rumors Simon Cowell was upset with American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson after she joined The Voice UK, a direct rival to his UK X-Factor [click here if you missed that].

Looks like the rumors were true...

From The Sun
WHEN The Voice moved to ITV, some thought its rivalry with SIMON COWELL’s X Factor might subside. But it has actually had the reverse effect.
Things are now so tense between the warring shows that Simon has banned hopefuls from singing And I Am Telling You — one of the best-known songs by Voice coach JENNIFER HUDSON.
At an X Factor audition in Manchester this week he stopped one girl part way through her version of it, telling her it was “too heavily linked to another show”.
“This one girl tried to sing And I Am Telling You, which Jennifer sang in Dreamgirls, but Simon stopped her immediately and told her to sing something else.

She's burning bridges for that temporary check. These shows don't last forever, same as with her music career.

What does she have to lose though?

Fvck him!! Jennifer owes him NOTHING!! Besides the only song Jennifer has that is relevant isnt even HER song. She'll be fine Simon!

Thats a dream girls song... She doesn't own the song he doesnt own the song. When i hear the song miss Hudson doesnt come to mind, but to dismiss all those who came before her is crazy

NO one comes close to Jennifer Holiday's version anyway, so I am glad he stopped people from singing their water downed version of the song

Jennifer Holiday did fantastic at bringing the song to life. But Jennifer murdered it. Saying that takes nothing away from Ms. Holiday but J Hud deserves her props as well. And the part J Hud added to the song was nice.

Unfortunately, for me, nothing JHud does is memorable. I saw Dreamgirls and it was forgettable. When I think of that song, it's Jennifer Holliday's version that I think of.
