Steve Wonder Criticizes the Black Lives Matter Movement in Minneapolis

Last week Minneapolis police officer Jeronimo Yanez was acquitted after killing Black driver and licensed gun owner Philando Castille, who was sitting in his car with his girlfriend and her 4 year-old daughter when he was shot while reaching for his I.D. [click here if you missed that].

Following the verdict Stevie Wonder raises eyebrows after telling Black youth in Minneapolis its up to them to end gun violence by showing other races we care about ourselves...

At a Peace rally in Minneapolis held over the weekend Stevie Wonder told the crowd,
“It is in your hands to stop all the killing and all the shooting wherever it might be. Because you cannot say Black Lives Matter and then kill yourselves.”
“Because you know, we’ve mattered long before it was said. But the way we show all the various of people color matter is by loving each other and doing something about it – not just talking about it.”
