The University of Missouri Revokes Bill Cosby's Honorary Degree

The University of Missouri joins the growing list of institutions revoking their honorary degrees from Bill Cosby...

...despite his sexual assault trial ending in a hung jury last week [click here if you missed that].

From The NY Daily News
The University of Missouri's Board of Curators has voted unanimously to revoke an honorary degree it granted to Bill Cosby.
University system President Mun Choi recommended that the board strip the comedian of a doctorate in humane letters he received in 1999. Choi cited allegations from several women that Cosby sexually assaulted them. Choi says Cosby's actions do not reflect the university's values.
25 other institutions have revoked honorary degree status from Bill Cosby after more than 50 women came forward accusing him of sexual misconduct.

On behalf of the people that don't give a fuck about this man, will every institution that ever granted Mr. Cosby a degree of any kind please come forward and revoke that shit right damn now, if you haven't already? Quit playing and get it over with. Thank you.

I always felt Honorary Degrees are degrees you get when you do something nice for the school , like give them money or help the president raise money. So with all the institution that have revoked their degree why not give the man money back. As it stands now it hasn't been proven he did anything wrong othe than fuck someone that was looking for a come up.

He has been proven neither innocent nor guilty. He did; however, admit to doing some unscrupulous things to women that he knew were unable to give their consent. I don't believe it is wrong for schools to distance themselves from him based upon his actions. So what if they took money from him? He gave it to them. If the money was used as a donation for tax purposes and were calculated into his tax report for that particular tax year, at this point the money is a non-issue.

Now, I am in no way a stan for Bill, (see my comments on yesterday's thread regarding him going all over the country to give PSA's on avoiding sexual assault), but if all these schools want to disassociate themselves from Bill by revoking his honorary degrees, then I think they should give him his money back.

If they want to make a statement saying we no longer want to associate with this man in any capacity, then that should include his money too. That's like saying I believe you are a rapist Bill and on principle our school cannot be seen as having a connection with you, but we will have no problem keeping your $. Please!

Let him decide on how he claims his returned money on his tax returns. If it's too much of a problem for Bill then he can always refuse to cash it,but something tells me he has a slew of tax shelters to pick from.

Just my two cents.

Bill is a black man. Why does he have to sit down and be humble? Get the fuck outta here.

I totally agree with their decision. It's not like he physically or mentally earned and deserves this.
