50 Cent Parts Ways with Effen Vodka

Two years ago rapper 50 Cent vowed to end Diddy's Ciroc vodka reign with his own vodka Effen [click here if you missed that].

Welp Diddy and Ciroc are still here but....

According to reports 50 Cent just sold his minority stake in Effen cutting ties with the brand.

In a post on Instagram 50 claims to have made $60 million on the sale.

Fun Fact: 50 once claimed to have made $400 million after selling his stake in Vitamin Water that turned out to be closer to $60 million [click here if you missed that].

Snitch, I really enjoy opening statements in the posts. Hilarious!

But when it came time to pay the settlement 50 said he was broke. Does he still have to pay her?

What so-called businessman tells the world how much they made on business deals? I've never seen Bill Gates, Robert F. Smith, or even Oprah openly talk about their net worth or the amount they made on any business transaction...

I can't stand either of those jokers. Not sure about 50 but Diddy is nothing more than a (well)paid employee of Ciroc. He doesn't own any part of Ciroc, he just pushes it to the Black community and the wannabee's.

FORBES said he made 400 Million! said...

So wait a minute, I read the article in Forbes "Richest in Hip Hop" back then that said 50 made 400 Million in that deal.

So Forbes lied??, get out of here. Forbes just said Jay Z is worth 800 Million, nobody questioned it. This is Forbes they know what they are talking about.50 cent made 400 Million just like they say he did.

R in NYC says:

Typical NY dude always bragging about their money.

@ 9:25. Exactly! Real business men keep their financial business to themselves especially with the IRS watching.

@9:41 Business individuals do not view Forbes as a credible source. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet and other billion and millionaires state that they read other credible publications and Forbes is not one of them. Forbes stop being the go to for the 1% a long time ago. Someone touched on this in a post a few posts ago. Nevertheless, Forbes net worth articles are not accurate

@CHRISSY SNOW, WRONG, READ THIS! said...

Wrong Crissy Snow, Sean Combs is NOT SHAWN CARTER

I pasted a link and article for you to read. Notice the difference between the Statement Ciroc owners made and the one sentence statement LIVE NATION made when they re-signed Jay Z to another 10 year record deal.

Jay Z was not offered ownership, power to make executive decisions in the direction Live Nation, nor a 50/50 split Split in Profits. In other words the CIROC owners *RESPECT* Puffy and his BUSINESS ACUMEN and what he brought to the table AS AN EXECUTIVE and paid him WHAT HE IS WORTH.

http://www.targetmarketnews.com/storyid10260701.htm

(October 24, 2007) Diageo, the world's leading, spirits, wine and beer company, today announced a groundbreaking strategic alliance between Sean "Diddy" Combs and Ciroc vodka. Under the terms of the deal, Combs and Sean Combs Enterprises will take the lead on all brand management decisions for Ciroc, while sharing in the future profits of the growth of the brand. This exclusive US multi-year collaboration, which calls for a 50/50 profit split, is a first for the spirits industry and could be worth more than $100 million for Combs.

"Sean Combs has a proven track record of developing high-end brands and we expect his alliance with Ciroc to follow suit," said Debra Kelly-Ennis, Chief Marketing Officer, Diageo North America. "We are confident that Sean and his team are the right partners to further enhance the luxury profile of Ciroc."

All that faux beefing with Diddy and he was only a minority owner? That man is toxic as hell...

Jay Z is just an Artist, a Rapper to Live Nation.
Nothing more.

He will be rapping for them untill he is in his 60s .

If they really respected him and saw him as the Business Genius he Markets him self to be and brags about they would have made him a Shareholder like the other Billionaire Shareholders that are a part of Live Nation.

Instead, they put Jay Z on 40 date tour, fresh of his re-signing a new record deal slave contract, the ink isnt even Dry on the contract.

10:01 does that sound like an owner to you? Check the carefully worded blurb you pasted. He is an employee receiving profit shares for successfully promoting this brand. I bet 50/50 is some bs number they put out there to make us think he Diddy is part owner.
I don't know much about business but I do know an initial investment has to be made before someone can be labeled a true partner. How much money did Diddy invest in Ciroc? Zero.
Diddy is smarter than Jay but he's still a fraud.

Here is a better explanation:
"That’s right Diddy is not the owner of CIROC ! I was shocked when i found this out too, Diddy has a beefed up endorsement deal between him and the OWNERS of the drink. They have a 50/50 split of the profits from CIROC. Profits means after the production/marketing and any other cost associated with producing CIROC, that is when Diddy gets his money. The real 100% owners of CIROC Diaego PLC, they have a 3 year deal with Diddy, to help brand their product. After the deal they could part ways with Diddy and find another person to brand/endorse their product. At the end of the day it seems like everybody profits off of Hip Hop except for the people who actually make Hip Hop profitable."

That is what he gets. I'm not a big fan of Diddy but why would one black man start out gunning for the other. Especially when it's plenty of whites making money off liquor bring them down . Not ur brother

@CHRISSY SNOW, 10:27 ...INCORRECT said...

Chrissy Snow, Sean Combs has been working with Ciroc since 2007. There have been several progressions (re-negotiations) of the original endorsement deal over the years. The article you cited is old, from 2011,when he was just the face of the brand.

The most recent deal signed....Is a partnership., Sean Combs and his Combs Wine and Spirits along with Diageo Alcohol Beverage Company (Owners of Ciroc) are signed to a 50/50 global partnership NO LONGER AN ENDORSEMENT DEAL. In fact they just completed their first joint acquisition .They jointly acquired DeLeon Tequila in a 50/50 acquisition.

http://www.bevindustry.com/articles/87083-diageo-teams-with-sean-diddy-combs-to-acquire-deleon-tequila

"Norwalk, Conn.-based Diageo will expand its relationship with rap artist and entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs to acquire the luxury tequila brand DeLeon. The 50/50 joint venture between Diageo and Combs’ New York-based Combs Wine & Spirits company builds on a 2007 strategic alliance formed by Diageo and Combs Enterprises to develop and grow the Ciroc ultra-premium vodka brand."

FYI,Chrissy Snow, the article I Cited from BEVNET.com the (beverage Industry publication) is from 2016.

Chrissy Snow said...

Okay I see where the confusion is Diageo still owns Ciroc.
This DeLeon mess does not sell Ciroc, they sell DeLeon brand tequila.
Diddy is still tapping Ciroc in the hood, this DeLeon deal was his reward. Kinda like LiveNation giving Diddy RocNation.

Chrissy Snow said...

I meant.
"Kinda like LiveNation giving JAY Z RocNation."

Forbes is as credible as Media Takeout. Anyway these hip hop court jesters get paid and you get poisoned.

That's all

@Snow From Bloomberg Business

"Sean "Diddy" Combs has expanded his deal with the world's largest liquor maker to extend his Circoc brand of vodka. Combs is a 50 percent owner of Ciroc with Diageo.

Diageo is also the owner of popular brands like Smirnoff and Ketel One.

Bloomberg News reports that Combs and Ciroc are planning to release coconut and red-berry varieties in the United States according to Circoc’s marketing director, Marc Strachan.

The partnership with Combs is extremely lucrative, helping Diageo earn over $2 billion in liquor sales in 2008."
