Reposted from the last Snowfall thread:

Are they going to talk about:

- The CIA using cocaine to fund the Iran Contra Affair?

- The CIA reportedly using Barry Seal and other assets to get the drugs into the country?

- The alleged party houses set up all over the country in urban communities and funded by the CIA to use prostitutes to "offer" drugs to young people in the black community? ("The first time is always free.")

- The LAPD Rampart Division and the alleged drug running and money laundering that went on under Daryl Gates?

That allegedly the Rodney King story was a distraction?

- Did anyone know the LA Times was going to do a huge story with sources on the Rampart Divisions' alleged misdeeds then, but the story got killed due to the riots?)

- The alleged money laundering that large movie studios did for drug cartels and white/Persian families in the 80s in LA?

- That Robert Evans was the only one that got caught because he was allegedly set up to be the fall guy

- That coke money allegedly helped fund 2 of LA's sports teams. "Doctor's" families are still enjoying the proceeds from those fund today?

- That allegedly many buildings in Southeast, East LA and parts of West Hollywood were purchased as a means to launder coke money, high insurance policies were taken out on them, then the owners made a killing when the buildings burned during the riots?

A bunch of dudes in the hood have nothing on the REAL drug dealers.

I'm surprised the ratings are as good as this. I've been watching, but I haven't heard much buzz about this since the premiere week, when everybody was talking about it.

This show is kinda like Power before they got so powerful. The main character is the ironically named Franklin SAINT, and he's kind of a baby James St. Patrick.

@10:02 unfortunately, the media will probably never tell that story,in full capacity, in our lifetime. It's not a bad show but I was hoping it would talk more about behind the scenes and not street BS. I could've done without that butt bandit scene from a few weeks ago.

I watch the show, it is an interesting drama telling the stories of different aspects. i.e. Urban, Mexican,Persian, Cartels from Central America etc. It is NOT a Documentary,,,

1:41 we understand it's not a documentary, but some of the narratives are just plain lies/omissions and it would actually be interesting if they addressed some of 10:02's questions, but they won't. Or the truth might be too mind blowing. Either way, fact is stranger than fiction.

1:41 go back to sleep

@1:37 Butt bandit? Perhaps less gay backstories and more facts would make for a better series, but they don't want to hear it.

(Unless they address the NOTORIOUS money launderer who died of AIDS in the early 90s who allegedly trafficked Coke to your favorite celebrities via his Tanner Bridge Road home? Any talk of that?)

10:02 I always thought it was weird in "Clueless" when Cher called the Persian kids "The Persian Mafia." Hmmmm....

folks who are questioning what's being left out...
why don't you address john singleton directly since he is a BLACK guy running the show (even if he is a puppet... still running)

@2:45...1:37 here..the money launderer story might be better off as a major film but even that might tell more than TPTB want for the public to know.

Since this comes on FX, I wondered if Fox was going to be that channel that forces the gay agenda down everyone's throats. Empire had to lose viewers before they decided to raise up, so they decided to take it to basic cable. Got no problems with the LGBT community but those scenes are too explicit.

Great point 4:02 and exactly what I was thinking. I have no problem with the LGBT Community, but it would be nice to see intact Black families, strong households, etc. which are all things that exist but the media doesn't want to show. The Lethal Weapon series is actually good and more of what people want to see. There's enough dysfunction and chaos in the world so who wants to turn on their TV and see more of it?

Back to Snowfall: There's a ton of documented history that people wouldn't believe. Again, facts are stranger than fiction re: what Gary Webb found out during his research.

And yes, 3:12 thanks for pointing out John Singleton as yes, he's a figurehead/puppet.

Good Show! I like how it goes into detail of how the Drug Game was in the 80's.

We have seen this same story told over and over again. This is nothing more than the same rhetoric that enforces the strong stereotype that blankets America about black people generally males. We don't need anymore of these types of movies made. What does needs to be told is the whole back story on how corrupt the government is and how the war on drugs is just a manipulating factor to hide the behind.
