Irv Gotti Brags About Disrespecting Lauryn Hill

Irv Gotti recalls the time he met Lauryn Hill and totally disrespected her...

In a sit down with The Real Irv Gotti explains how he was prepped to met Lauryn Hill by being asked not to touch her and to please address her as Ms. Hill.

In his cringeworthy tale Irv laughs as he brags about agreeing to meet on her terms, but then grabbing Ms. Hill in a big bear hug and addressing her as L. Boogie instead.

I'm not calling anybody Ms. anything if we the same damn age! Miss me with that silly shit!

If you aren't elderly (or an adult demanding respect from a young person) you are not entitled to anyone calling you Ms.
Anybody that does this shit has insecurity written all over them.

They have no control or power in their private lives so they seek to control others with silly tactics like this.

It's not about age you idiots it's about familiarity you ill bred animals

Irv is such a lame. I wonder did PMK answer his phone calls yet.

Well, did she stay, run, slap him, laugh or what?

i think Lauryn does that to make people respect her. I remember during her hey day she reflecting in an interview how it bothered her how the focus waas on her looks/body. photographers wanting her to bend over and show more skin. people randomly touching her getting in her face like they knew her. there's a push for people to allow others to use them in that industry, as we see with the harvey weinstein mess. that's why lauryn opted out. she tried to save herself. now she's doing things on her own terms. you can't just touch her body when you want to and makes you put some respect on her name.

@3:47
No shade but that sounds like a typical Black work environment. MR this Ms that bootlicking bow down bullshit.
I worked with wealthy public figures that were secure and accomplished enough to be on a first name basis with everyone. This did not diminish their titles, achievements or respect granted.

Good for him!! She thinks she is some type of royalty and she isnt. She is an average looking woman with an average sounding voice who sleeps with married men and steals the credit for writing songs. In my Effie White voice "She aint nothing but common"

You all are talking about her like she's a coworker of yours but she's not. She's one of the most respected musical artists EVER. She's on the level of Michael Jackson in the hip hop/ rap world. She inspired an entire generation. Her referring to herself as Ms.Hill is old news. She started that over 15 years ago. People will still be talking about that album a century from now. Why he would brag about what he did is beyond me.

@4:29 you sound jealous darling. She is the closest thing to royalty you'll meet.

Y'all bugging. Even Whitney Houston didn't go on demanding this shit. It's purely a power and insecurity issue.
And if this stems from being disrespected within the industry when she was on top, then I believe it's high time for her to get therapy so she can get over it and move on.
I love her music but she is certifiably crazy.

@4:37 that's why Whitney Houston died prematurely because she allowed them to treat her like property instead of allowing her to be human.

People who work for her still call her Ms. Hill. She was going through a difficult time a decade ago when she requested not to be randomly touched. She said in Essence how people would just come up to her and start touching her from head to toe. If she told them she did not want to be touch they would get offended. She felt violated the same as you would feel if a total stranger walked up to you and started touching you.

She is much more comfortable around her fans and people in general now. She meets with and hugs fans takes pictures and holds actual conversations with them unlike most celebrities.

Irv was definitely out of place touching her, and so were the ladies for laughing. They just spent a whole segment being disgusted by Weinstein, but it was OK to violate Ms.Hill.

@4:55 Whitney died because she didn't love herself enough to get better.
Lauren didn't love herself enough to get rid if that evil Rasta. That's why she's crazy. It's not just some industry shit that made her nutty. It's her poor choice in man and the breakdown of her personal life.

She disrespects her fans by being hours late to a concert all the time. Let Ms.Hill see how it feels to be disrespected.

4:12 the context has more to do with respect for elders and has less to do with skin color and more to do with southern social mores. Jeff Dunham (the "redneck humor" guy) made the kids call him "Mr. Jeff" when he was hosting "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader."

Google a little bit before you attack other Black folks arbitrarily.

Peace.

I'm a big city northerner, 6:15. In the instances I have seen this practiced, there was no age difference. Merely title and degree. Lol

IMO, it's unnecessary, outdated and based on insecurity.

Let YT had told Ol Yella they didn't want to be touched and he touched It would of been thank you and goodnight. Hell even J Lo or Mariah would of cancelled on this idiot.

If Lauryn was so keen about folks respecting her, she would've pop out 6 kids by a nigga who runs off with a trashy ass white girl.

You can't demand respect if you don't carry yourself with respect

Anonymous said...

@ 6:31 Nope!

You're wrong.
It's about respect and a mature mind gets this

Even Marylin Monroe called JFK " MR. President "

Even junk mail addresses people as Mr. Or Ms.

I want to know did they called her Ms. Hill when she was in prison? I don't worship celebrities and I'm not a stan.

9:28 I would not be surprised. I know they loved her. One of the ladies did a write up about how she conducted herself. She has helped quite a few ladies secure their release since she has been home. Several are authors. She tried doing a documentary on living conditions inside for women, but was denied the right to film inside. She has not forgotten them I think she remains involved with trying to help.

@5:17 Whitney Houston did love herself & do Ms. Hill and her mental health is not faltering as the entertainment establishment would have you believe. This is about money and how white people were/are trying to control the artist or to discredit & destroy their careers. Whitney Houston spoke of the hidden talent rooted in the black churches all across the United States but the lure of all the money causes many artists to choose secular music.

Just an observation said...

Whitney didn't love herself. Know one who love themselves do self destructive shit to avoid their problems.

No one

Someone asking not to be touched by strangers IS NOT disrespectful to the would be toucher. Just because shes famous she has to agree to be "hugged" against her will? Nah, she should have slapped his ass.

Whitney was a enormously talented, BISEXUAL singer who grew up in the church. She was bound to have issues. Cognitive dissonance, or in other words, you can't serve two masters.

She should've stayed in the church, it was her MOTHER Cissy who pushed her to have a career in the satanic music industry since she never blew up on her own. Whitney NEVER wanted the fame.

You have

@11:05 unlike many I choose to think for "myself " and value sound judgment . The narratives of Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Aailyh, Prince, Left Eye Lopez, Bernie Mack, Heavy D, etc bares a common thread if you are "woke". Ms. Hill would not bend *over* to the powers of the music industry elites and they destroyed her career! Our ancestors "created" music through the oppressive dehumanizing 400+ years of slavery and you actually believe that somehow things have changed? We are indeed a lost generation....but I applaud Ms Hill for demanding respect.
