Execs Explain Demise of Survivors Remorse

Last October Starz canceled Survivors Remorse, a drama produced by LeBron James and loosely based on his life [click here if you missed that].

Starz execs explains why the show was axed...

During a Television Critics Association panel Starz CEO and president Chris Albrecht explained,
“We love Survivor’s Remorse, we’re very proud of the show. I think there was some closure. It’s difficult in premium to manage the kind of glidepaths or choices that you used to be able to. It’s pretty competitive out there, and I think the show spoke to a lot of really important issues and I’m not sure there was a lot more to say. We gave the show a real shot to kind of break out in the way you want a show to break out after the fourth season. Having said that, I think everybody left feeling they had accomplished good work.”

I'll translate:

No one cares about Lebron James or his life or the fact that he produced this show. The end.

They know good and damn well after Mike Epps character was killed off the show went to shit. I marathon watched every episode before Starz was dropped by Optimum cable. I had to force myself to finish watching it. The writing and plot had gone way left. There was too much emphasis on the mother's relationship with the Chinese man. They literally made the lesbian sister into a sociopath. Don't get me started on the cousin's wife Missy. Sorry ole girl was butt ugly and I had to fast forward through her love scenes.
It was like as the ratings tanked the producers said fuck it!

This show was a no go from the start for me. I have never found Mike Epps funny and I'm not a LeBron fan.

@ 11:24. You are exactly right, the acting was so bad it made it hard to watch. The only decent acting was by Epps and the cousin...watching the bballer was painful

I'm sorry to hear that! I really enjoyed this show...the psa he had to give about domestic violence after his Sis put the paws on him is pure comedy
