Lalah Hathaway Bans Cell Phones at Her Shows

R&B singer Lalah Hathaway introduces a zero tolerance policy for cell phones at her shows...

The message has since disappeared from Lalah's social media pages but she stands by her convictions and has been battling with disgruntled fans over the subject on Twitter.

Good for you, Lalah. If folk pay to see your art, they should respect it. Yeah, keep your phone to make a call if you need to, but don't be recording & taking pictures and sh*t when the artist is trying to give YOU what YOU paid for.

I mean otherwise, why are you there? Are you there to experience the artist or there to post for your friends?

We've lost the reality of now. STOP and enjoy what God's given you right now.

Sorry, you can't fight this battle so let it go. Bic lighters have been replaced with cellphones.let it go.

This would never happen to Beyonce.

I feel her 100%. I don't like crowds anyway...I be damned if I pay and can't enjoy the show. Phones should be banned in houses of worship as well. People are so dumb. Just because you CAN do something does NOT mean you should.

I agree 8:10 more people and houses of worship should take this stance.

Heard the same shit happened at The Revolution's concert in Atlanta this weekend. Dum dums literally fucking with their phones during what was otherwise supposed to be a heartfelt tribute to their leader, Prince. Folks disrespectful & dumb as shit.

It doesn't matter to me because the only time I've seen her, she just happened to be with someone else I wanted to see...

Good for her. I love her music.

Shouldn’t be an issue really. Most of the folks going to see her probably still use land lines anyway. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Lailah fans will have no problems with this as we are grown and spent money to take in the music & ambiance....
Althiugh, some grown folks caught up in collecting content for the social pages...I never had a diary and I damn sure not about to start a digital diary now for all to see..FOH

I used to agree about devices in Church but I've recently started using the Bible app on my ipad as I find its easier, and if the choir is jumping, I will record them. And as for concerts, I think that only makes sense for comedy concerts. I don't see the big deal if someone wants to record a music concert, if they pad their money and that's their method of making memories, fine, just be respectful of other people.

I love her, saw her in Houston, and fully support her position. If you can't enjoy the moment, stay home and watch some day YouTube videos. Damn.

Bitch they paid you to perform. You work for them, not the other way around.I wish a celeb would tell me what to do when I'm the one paying their bills. Without the fans these people ain't shit.
