Mo'Nique Sits Down with The View

Back in 2009 Oscar winning actress Mo'Nique famously refused to promote her Academy Award nominated film, 'Precious,' because production refused to pay her for the additional work [click here if you missed that].

Mo'Nique explains her side of the story in a sit down with The View...

Monique isn't going to have a career again until she comes up off her high horse. I see she didn't say she was the most decorated black female comic in front of Whoopi today. Is that her gray showing or the gel? Monique your husband is ruining your career.

Monique is incredibly intelligent is merely warning us about these false prophets that smile and give cute speeches while doing the devils work on the low. Interesting how Whoopi comes for Monique but says nothing about her "friend" racist pig Mel Gibson. Also remember her last name is Goldberg.

Kevin Hart didn't promote his film via social media because it wasn't in his contract. The studio was furious at him and it lead to that email leak but in the end they PAID him to promote on his social media to his million of followers. Mo is Not wrong she is 100% right about being paid ask Viola Davis

I think that's great they welcomed her on the show so that her voice could be heard on a bigger platform. Regardless of a difference of opinion they remained respectful of each other.

I must say that Monique is THE ONLY person who is even coming close to telling the TRUTH about what really goes on within the entertainment industry. Now mind you, she will not blatantly come out and say “I didn’t participate in the sex rituals” or “I didn’t provide a blood sacrifice”, but she has said she wouldn’t take someone’s dick in her ass or let “entities” bully/control her or go up to the hotel room.

She is articulate and she is trying to get the point across without telling too much. Anyone with discernment will be able to hear what is not being said. Much respect to this sister.

Im sorry, but to me, Mo has a nasty attitude and a sense of entitlement. She hasn't been relevent for awhile now and where there is smoke there is fire. I truly believe she is difficult to work with.

She did earn that Oscar, as her performance was amazing. However, she tainted it with being unappreciative for the role of a lifetime. If she was passionate about this movie and its message, she would have promoted the hell out of it no matter what. She accepted the job for $50K, knowing it was an Indie movie. Once the movie was gaining momentum, she got greedy and wanted more. Be grateful that you were a part of such a great project, lady! She was clearly not in it for the love of acting, or being proud of her work...all she saw was $$ and that was HER fault and HER downfall. Trust a believe she would have gotten many more roles had she played her position and supported "Precious". She shot HERSELF in the foot, point.blank.period.

Whoopie knows what's up - she said it without saying it....

@10:23 Precious a great movie?? Girl please. Miss me with that Bull. You can watch a woman getting beat on any other movie in this world. Its not right but girl don't blow smoke up that movie.

@10:44 - Wow, if we all thought the same, the world would be pretty boring, huh? I thought the acting was supurb and so did most of the indie world. If you didn't think it was a good movie, cool...I did. The story is a sad one, but creatively told. To each their own....

If you're black (like me) you realized long ago that life ain't fair. Monique isn't telling us anything new about life. Whether it's Hollywood or the average office building, white people are paid more than blacks, while blacks work our asses off. And we all know we have to play the game at work. If Monique wants to school us, she shouldn't assume that we're dumb and haven't lived in the world and suffered racism, sexism, ageism and every other ism out here. Monique hasn't been out here fighting or being vocal/outspoken about our community's issues. She's out here loving us for real to claim some money that she thinks she deserves. It's good to know your worth but it's not good to cut off your nose to spite your face. She needs to worry about being able to take care of her family. She doesn't know business and her husband doesn't know business. She's going to end up broke. And that Oscar she won 10 years ago means nothing now. Halle Berry won an Oscar too. She, herself has complained about not getting the roles she thought she would. An Oscar can be and is a stepping stone, it in no way should make you think it defines the rest of your career. Monique should have told Netflix thank you and goodbye. But instead she wants to become an advocate of making things equal so she can get her money. And she's going about it the wrong way. The absolute wrong way.
