This week there were rumors Destiny's Child would reunite during Beyonce's set at Coachella [click here if you missed that].

It happened...

Beyonce didnt give a damn about giving fans a Destiny Childs reunion. She is playing chess not checkers. She is using them as pawns. She is trying to keep herself in the forefront and she is using them. What was she going to do next? No album so back to DC.

The vocals were great they just need new music.

i saw some clips from her performance. just as suspected same old same. of course, folks going nuts over it like they haven't heard crazy in love a billion times before lol. same huge stage set, dancers, outfits, hair, songs. even the "surprise" guests were same DC, Jay, Solange. lol. at least beyonce had the decencey to even seem a little bored with it all lol. but jay's bills need to be paid.

anyways... what is your favorite local chain restaurant? Mine is Pepe's. they have the bomb authentic mexican food.

She puts on a good show! Shame about the songs and music...

This show was great. Very Black. I slept dreaming about my days at Bethune Cookman...

Anonymous said...

The show should be great with 200 dancers, marching band, drum section, violinists, and five other people, its basically just like her tours for the last couple of years.

Chrissy Snow said...

Beyonce does put on a good show. However, the Rapunzel weave used to camouflage the extra weight is not cute. She looks fine but it's time to retire the leotards.

Oh and Kelly is still the prettiest.

The show was made great by the band, dancers etc Beyonce also holds the mic over her mouth when she lip syncs which she did a lot of last night. I couldn’t watch the whole thing, it’s just nit my style, I prefer for the bw standard to be about her vocals, ie Whitney rather than her crotch thrusts, I am talking about me and my preferences

I thought it was heavily reliant on the production rather than her vocals and individual artistry it relied on the theatrics, props, including dc. Again, I ended up turning it off probably because I don’t connect with her music so the visuals are really secondary and not my style

*If it was great, made great by*

@ 11:22 am. yeah i don't get it. you could literally replace any black girl in bey's "main attraction" spot surrounded by all that production and it could be deeemed a good show. black women artists generally are good peformances/artists. also i agree with another poster, kelly looked so cute! loved the natural do. when is she coming out with something new.

Chrissy Snow said...

11:25 You make a good point but when you compare her to what is out there now, she puts on a good show.

I believe that's the reason Beyonce still works so hard to remain relevant in this era of mediocrity. Whitney, and Mariah ruled the 90's, Britney, Christina and Aaliyah took over the '00's.
She couldn't hang with A team entertainers and didn't start making an impact until her real peers either fell off or passed away.

Anonymous said...

This woman lip synced the inauguration and had people convinced even her so called vocal bests with mic far from her mouth were lipped uncanhear when it’s actually live the spoke singing parts and there it’s not impressive

Anonymous said...

it's funny because beyonce IS medicore to me..she just has great PR and stage production. if you compare her to mainstream artists, yes she stands out. but indie..sorry there are so many black women who blow her out the water. but they usually aren't overly sexy or light skinndededed. actually i have an associate who is an indie artist and she said it's hard because when she goes places to perform they always ask her can she do a "beyonce" show. she said it's hard to display your artistry because bey has become the standard ed for black women musicans so if you don't do what she does they don't support you. so there are these amazign black women struggling because they aren't grunting into a mic or stomping down stairs :).

Anonymous said...

I know the so called Beyonce standard is stifling for true talented vocalist who aren’t brining 1000 grinding women on stage to crotch pop in front of, this should just be BeyoncĂ© not a standard for others

Incredible show by the Black Queen B!!!

Calgon, take me away said...

It's no surprise that Beyonce is considered great in this day and age. She does her thing on stage and then is hailed a "queen" despite subpar musical talent.
Nothing in this day, not even the GMO food we buy is worth a damn. Our "president" is a nympho game show host.
Our TV shows are predominantly reality shows. Our fashion is cheap, gaudy and revealing. Y'all already know about the state of our music industry. Our models are now IG models who double as escorts.
Our education system is trash.
Parenting has taken a turn for the worst, as kids become addicted to tablets and internet.
Healthcare and health are in ruins, as most Americans are overweight and sickly.
This is a very downtrodden era and history will prove this in another 60 years, if the planet survives that long.

Beyonce absolutely, unequivocally killed this performance. Sad that some black women continue to hate on Beyonce when all she does is represent! She brought every bit of black culture up in there. She didn't give a damn that it was Coachella, a primarily all white festival. Those white people were staring in awe at all that black beauty, talent and culture just wanting be a part of it...wishing they were black. Having attended an HBCU and an Ivy league school, I was so proud to see her give such an authentic tribute to HBCUs. Her tribute to Fela Kuti, the Malcolm X quotes... Her entrance with the African headpiece and outfit. My 6 year old watched her entrance with me this morning. She started screaming "Mommy look she looks just like T'Challa's mother in Black Panther"! It really touched me to know my daughter was so excited and happy to see her African inspired look. She thought it was beautiful. That is not an image that was promoted when we were growing up. Thank you Beyonce for helping to change the white washed standard of beauty in this country. And she was absolutely STUNNING looking like Nefertiti. I don't care how you personally feel about Beyonce. She unabashedly displays her heritage and promotes nothing but Black Girl Magic. As a violinist myself, I appreciated the young black girls she featured in her show that masterfully played all kinds of instruments: the violin, the guitar, the drums, the cymbals, trumpet...the list goes on. I also appreciated the rainbow of black women...from very light to very dark. She also had every size black woman on her set. I am rail thin but was so proud to see her feature those two very plus size women dancing in the spotlight with her at such a major venue. It just confirms to me the type of woman she is. She did not make the show all about her but instead made tribute to the talent and beauty of our people. Haters never want to give this woman credit. She has NOT turned white like Michael Jackson to appeal more to the masses. Let's keep it real. She could have cracked under all the entertainment world pressure and chilled on all the black associations. It would probably make her even more successful than she is. However, she has stayed true to herself, her roots and her people. I don't give a damn if she has a blonde weave. So what! She's also had braids and all kinds of different hair styles. What matters is what she promotes and it's ALL black culture. PERIOD. PUT SOME RESPECT ON THIS WOMAN'S NAME!!!! She made this very successful, very black woman proud!!!!

@ 12:52 umm okay yvette we get the point. lol. of course bey is going to be por black culture this time around. it's what's happening now with all the black activism/black panther success..she would be a fool to do anything else. i think she bit janet having big dancers on her recent tour. i've noticed big dancers before in bey's set. sorry i just will never get the hype. shrug

@ 12:01 yeah beyonce has actually hurt other black women singers. also, when has she ever went out of her way helped other black female singes other than DC? who really play back up dancers to her. damn shame, especially in regards to kelly because she's been there in the beginnign but she gets no respect. and bey doesn't even really try to correct this. and i havent' how she undermined ledisi at the grammys a few years ago sneak took her song and performed instead of her. but now she prob black folk? okayyyyyyy

Anonymous said...

AUTHENTIC MY ASS! The entire globe could be burning around beyonce and she will sit in her crystal palace and say NOTHING! I guess everybody has to wait until her next performance to hear her opinion. Real problems going on in this world, but she doesn't actually give a shit. She cares about getting yall iditos income tax checks and that's IT! Her silence on issues is deafening. Her trained hive will harass and send death threats to ANY BLACK WOMAN that doesn't worship at her alter. Is that black excellence? But as long as she look good in a leotard and give some blonde wigs a little "texture" when it's time to do a "black themed performance" then suddenly she's the next malcom x.

Anonymous said...

to the chick who said britney and christina ruled the 00's, first off britney and christina are both still alive. so if they were so great, how did beyonce surpass them?

Anonymous said...

I only have positive things to say. Beyoncé rocked the crowd! Her bringing out the HBCU experience and sharing it with everyone was dope! They sang Lift Every Voice to a white crowd of spectators. Once again DOPE!!! The Step Show they did Dope! The big girls whining with her to Baby Boy dope! Destiny's Child coming out dope! Kelly rockin the natural hairstyle dope!! How dope was that band??? This was one of her better performances for me. She usually bores me but I enjoyed the hell out of this.

Side note...those white people don't fully realize how good of a performance they got. Shot out to B for uplifting real black women queens in her shoutout.

Beyonce's "production" was to big for Cochella. It was NOT a level playing field. This girl does not know the meaning of UNITY, and, her performance was just all out weird... and no growth to be found.

12:52 Ask yourself: What is it about Beyonce that she must headline, and blow through like a hurricane.... intentionally trying to destroy any artist that is just trying to eat, and keep a roof over there heads? It's more than just insecurity. She's made her millions. I think she's downright evil.

Music festivals are for local artists in the area that need a little exposure to get a fan base started. These independent artists sell music on places like Bandcamp. These music festivals allow independent artists to market themselves.

Her fans don't care about any of this, as long as she makes headlines and they get their show.

I think the person meant chart wise. Britney and Xtina outsold Bey by a mile in terms of record sales, songs and general popularity. Clearly it wasn't a reflection of their "talents" but what the people were interested in at the time. Bey has been "winning" by default since then.

@ 12:52 If you liked Beyeelzebub's "black"-luster performance good for you. But don't come for King Michael, you sound ignorant...Michael had vitiligo, it's been proven. Btw, Michael already appealed to the so-called masses...You tried it...It's 2018, Google is your friend. Another thing, why Beyowulf have such a big production for Coachella????...Oh yeah, smoke and mirrors. I heard the crowd was dead :)

Anonymous said...

@3:13
I am 2:55 and there is some big time hating. I personally don't care what people think of her as a person but you can't take away the FACT that she's an amazing performer! Even if she lip syncs, she canc still sing, maybe not SANG to some but she can sing while dancing "gyrating"!

@3:26- Cardi B's talent is worth Beyonce's pinky finger, she's a hustling gimmick, I'll give her that. I'd rather listen to fingernails on a chalkboard than to hear her voice rapping.

Anonymous said...

@2:35 This is 12:52. Listen, we all love MJ but vitiligo ain't have nothing to do with him getting his nose changed several times. Or him choosing to have white kids (if they are even his). Or his obsession with Elizabeth Taylor and wanting to marry Lisa Marie. Michael had self hate issues (as many of us do) and we all know that. Now let other races talk ish about him I'd cuss them out but between family I'm just keeping it real. All I'm saying is Beyonce could follow that same path as MANY before her have done and cater to the white fan base since they are the ones that buy the most records but she doesn't. People love to say as @1:09 did, of course she is going to ride the Black Power/Panther wave because it's popular now. But she put Lemonade out with the same Black power theme as this performance before Black Panther came out. She stood with Trayvon's parents. She continues to say Black Lives Matter. How many of our artists continue to say Black Lives Matter? How many of our famous men/women (entertainers/athletes) are out here saying "All Lives Matter" because they're too shook to even say Black Lives Matter anymore. As a mainstream artist she is taking a risk every time she does this, especially in this Trump era. I think other entertainers support Black Lives Matter but just can't afford to risk their careers by saying so. I respect her for using her platform to continue to represent our community despite the potential backlash.

Why can’t Beyonce and her man release uplifting music for the masses unlike the let my uzi go pop, free criminal meek mill dribble that is currently out by them to young black audiences, why not lift every voice and sing intro on a positive single, not one talking about nonsense. Our community is in a mess because the so called adults young and old are groupies for uneducated user pawns. Nothing from either careers fed the hbcu, they were talking about soldiers, diva, who needs a degree, now that it’s buzzworthy for her she’s ms school daze in front of a white audience, but ms co-sign uzi go pop for current black audiences. To those who like it great but know many can see through the formula and yes our strong hbcu traditions are just that with BeyoncĂ© having nothing to do with building or sustaining them to this point but very effectively using them as a backdrop and cover for her very mediocre catalogue , that could of been anyone in the lead lifted up by all of that production, and no one is mad, if you were at an hbcu or any college that would be an unacceptable reply to an opposing viewpoint. Again, great you loved it, I found the opening dancer too much, the lyrics too low brow and it didn’t sustain my interest as a hbcu graduate I have had the real experience which some of you are only getting through BeyoncĂ© that likely explains some of your stances, please let it encourage you to seek the authentic experience by attending a hbcu, your child, a homecoming weekend, let’s it not just feed your BeyoncĂ© worship, they (dancers, team) were 95% of the show BeyoncĂ© should be very thankful that all blacks are not doped up, riding and dying (as most in the inner city are thanks to their and other pawn musical influences) and available to serve as backdrop. @4:23 Let's keep it honest. If we judged every artist by the messages in their songs how many people could live up to this standard? Michael Jackson never put out garbage? Depends on what you call garbage.
Everybody loves Billie Jean but let's be real...the lyrics of that song are fckd up! That's not something that uplifted the community! But it was a great beat and people grooved to it. It was a song meant to entertain not uplift. Some of you are being so hypocritical. Not every Beyonce song is going to change the world or educate the youth and that is ok. Artists are not responsible for educating our children. @3:59 I could name a song by almost every artist and argue that it pollutes the community. Even if you found her performance mediocre, it doesn't change the fact that she brought international attention to HBCU's. She showcased some excellent black talent other than her own. There are people all over the world Googling Fela Kuti and reearching Nefertiti as we speak trying to learn more about the cultural references she made. There are young people who will be inspired to attend an HBCU by seeing that band/step performances. Give her credit. Could more be done? Sure. Could we ALL do more? Sure. I understand you wanting more from performers but it's easier said than done. At least she has used the platform she has to try to do something. If we're are going to drag people let's target those that do absolutely nothing.

What I will say is that the loss of pigmentation/vitiligo didn't make Michael any less of a black man...who cared about his community and gave A LOT of money to HBCU/United Negro College Fund and not just used them as a theme for Coachella like another so-called artist. You can miss me with that other shit you wrote...Lemonade...BLAH BLAH BLAH...If you liked that Coachella performance good for you. Y'all do way too much! The show was entertaining, Beyonce has energy to maintain performance from beginning to end. All the great entertainers are capable of doing so during their era MJ, Janet, Madonna, Tina Turna, Prince, etc. They gave it all they had and left it on the floor.

The great singers who led with vocals. Leaving all with the gift of sound. The voice was and is the show. Whitney, Luther, Patti, J .Hudson, etc. They showed out and left it on the floor.

Everyone is different and stand in categories of their own. But oohh so entertaining be it by voice or movement. Beyonce did her thing for her nitch and fans. Cardio will do it for hers.. After all it's room for all and I absolutely don't want my entertainers doing the same thing then what's the point. As for DC they are all successful but at different levels.

I've seen both MJ and Beyonce in concert several times. They are both outstanding entertainers. No one disrespected MJ. All I said was "She has NOT turned white like Michael Jackson" Sorry but he did turn white and I actually wasn't referring to his skin color when I said it. The fact that he had self hate issues is also FACT. Does it make him a bad person? Absolutely not. It makes him human like the rest of us. It doesn't take anything away from any of his talent it just further proves my point that even the ultra talented and successful have pressures to conform to society's standards of beauty. The irony of you arguing about black people caring about their community yet your quick to be gutter, calling people out their names because you can't accept well known facts about a legend. But carry on with the hate...#Unbothered #TheyreBothLegends #ItsNotACompetition

If she wants to talk about sex and fucking her HUSBAND, she can. Don't allow your children to listen to it if you have a problem with her lyrics. Duh.....

Anonymous said...

Use that tired nonsensical excuse then let her keep it between her and her husband and spare the airwaves and impressionable minds but she don’t care , mj and real greats care what they put out, she is a thirsty narcissist puppet of tptb helping in the destruction of bp, and it goes over most of your heads because of the show

Anonymous said...

And copycat ting just like fave, BeyHive tactic 102, cut and paste

Anonymous said...

It isn’t duh you obvious fool and idol worshipper what about the children who have no choice it’s toxic and shouldn’t be out to begin with, duh

Anonymous said...

He gave good music but did bad things behind closed doors and????

@7:20- you're not even American speaking on Americans 103 but whatever.

Anonymous said...

When did Bey get so fat???????

Anonymous said...

Wait, y'al lost the essence of this conversation. There is no conversation! Beyonce is Beyonce and no comparison to Michael Jackson.

Anonymous said...

I am American it’s pure ignorance to suggest otherwise, but look at your idol. What is your thought process or lack thereof in reaching such an erroneous conclusion

Anonymous said...

Yes, end that mj stuff. I won’t be going to otr I don’t think anything could get me there due to the bad music, when I want a show I go to see a play or a movie not to hear mediocre music aggressively performed, but to each his own

Anonymous said...

^^No you're not but continue to spew your hatred. Do you boo!!

@541PM MJ also said Chris Brown was the greatest entertainer as well .Seriously, what's your point??

Bottom line, all these bay sick riders soooooo desperately want her to be the next MJ. Clearly she isn't or else this wouldn't be a on going discussion. Just understand sometime that she never will. If you take the time to learn history and the difference between actions and doing something, as oppose to using it for a theme because you wanna jump on a bandwagon, you will see why she will never be him. Add someone said, bayince cannot put on a show without all that damn graphic and 500 back up dancers to carry the show. That's a fact. And she was dead lipsyncing for majority of the whole performace. Y'all need to dead this fucking argument. There's a reason why it's Michael her wack ass fans keep trying to compare her to. He's the most high. It ain't gonna happen.

Anonymous said...

Opinions and a point of view is not hatred, man y’all have poor reasoning all the way around, it’s sad.

Anonymous said...

All these haters keep talking about how she fell off, she's mediocre, she's irrelevant blah, blah, blah and yet she is STILL showing up and out at Coachella 2018. Carry on..... I'll come back on here in 5 years when she's still relevant. Lol

Anonymous said...

There is an absolute difference between opinion and hatred but a few in THIS post are haters!! You're lost if you can't tell the difference.

Anonymous said...

You’re dumb it makes me laugh and shake my head, I’m sure in your bey brain anyone who is critical of beyonce is no American, wrong and wow, a mind is a terrible thing to waste a long standing hbcu tenet

Anonymous said...

Not everyone boo JUST Y-O-U!!

Anonymous said...

Speak for yourself and it’s clear you can’t distinguish the difference, who needs a degree? Everyone, a mind is a terrible thing to waste

Anonymous said...

LOL okay, stick to people that are (ir)relevant to YOUR country!

Anonymous said...

More deflection, sad
Guess you didn’t need a degree, lol

Lol okay.

lol rolling at the debate between bey and michael. going on muisc alone..michael had a 30+ year career. beyonce is really barely hanging on. before i used to see posts up and down my newsfeed whenever she peformed...this recent peformance only a few people posted. actually i've seen some folks either become indifferent of her or critical of her trying to ccaptialize on the very real issues black america is goin through right now. this is all just marketing to beyonce. not saying she doesn't really care. but the truth is she's a very rich attractive woman who lives a sheltered life she will never really go through what the rest of us are going thorugh. even her people arre the same jay, solange, kelly and michelle. so she doesn't even really even get different persectives just yes people. because you know none of those folks tell her no lol. so you have to take the pro black stuff with a grain of salt. to me nothing was unqiue abot the performance.. just regular bey.

Anonymous said...

^^^ then let Google be your friend and Google her name, you'll see all of the praises she got. You keep going on and on about HBCU education but you can't separate your sentences into paragraphs.

Anonymous said...

That’s a different poster, and of course her machine is hyping it up they have tickets to sell, it’s all about the money

Anonymous said...

Yawn.... She put on a hell of a performance.... The END! That being said, her eyes are dark!

Anonymous said...

Yes let the haters who are too stubborn to give this woman credit for anything continue to hate. In the meantime the rest of the world will acknowledge her for the great entertainer she is.

Anonymous said...

she is the queen none the less, im glad she broke tbe internet

Anonymous said...

Thank you to the people who are NOT Beyonce fans and still gave props for this performance.

This is @12:52 and @3:49. Funny I just saw an article discussing exactly what we've been debating on this thread. A good read. I'm gonna leave it here...

Name one of Beyonce albums sold over 100 million+ copies?! I doubt it.

Anonymous said...

@ 10:43

She just now sold 1 million copies of Dangerously In Love 2 years ago. It takes a worldwide effort just for her to barely sell 1.2 million of anything...

Such BS. She lost half of her white support when she released Lemonade. It's over for her.

Anonymous said...

@ 938 The writer of that article said that MJ was clearly the best entertainer that ever lived. Period.

Anonymous said...

Amazing not one of her peers can out perform her!!!

"Suck on my balls" - Beyonce

HOW CLASSY.

Anonymous said...

Her songs and performances aren't meant for little kids or OLD ass hags/maids.

Anonymous said...

greats make music for all who may hear and that’s anyone
She is no great, glad you know she has a niche lane

Anonymous said...

I don't get the Beyonce hype. She's a great live performer but so is half of Las Vegas showpeople. Her music sucks.

And BTW, The Cosby Show and Spike Lee brought HBCU's international attention...NOT BEYONCE. Dumb asses.

I'm so glad that I'm smart enough to see through all of these pop stars.

Beyonce ain't paying my college tuition so why the fuck should I go crazy over her?

And to the dumbass in here bringing up MJ, do you truly have anything else better to do with your life?

Anonymous said...

That’s what it is hype as her music sucks balls maybe that’s what she meant

Anonymous said...

Same old songs same old1 look smae stage show

I am amazed how she is ok with doing the same ols crap she been doing this same stale act for 20 years now
This is no test for the wicked

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Bey can perform. With that being said. Yes we can see thru the fakeness. U can't call.urself the best when there is more to entertainment than performing. She has no originality. She puts no effort in her music bc it sucks. She s pro black but says n word...in front of white audience. These are jayzs ideas..listen to murder to excellence. Jay trying to be woke for some time. Shes a feminist but hubby has the most mysogonistic music. Everything she does is about the shine and praise...its not genuine. She doesn't care about the craft. Now she's trying to target the hbcu...college students to stay relevant. Don't fall for it

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Oh yeah...DONT ever compare anyone to MJ...not even ur mother..its blasphemous!

THAT SHOW WAS GREAT! THANKS BEYONCE!!!

@11:22 PM Beyonce is damaged, but you will be deemed the "hater." Her performance has shown it. People is saying she went off personally. It's about peoples opinion, she used the local artist coachella moment to spread back the hate. Or was it really the musically inclined opinions on the gifted legendary artists instrumental music to today's relevancy of music? From Jay cheating or her narcissist state of mind for perfection? So, that was considered a triggered moment performance not black culture. People say it was spectacular like she did it herself but it was for herself. So, beyonce's spectacle class of entertainment people don't support the others? That is subconsciously self-hate taught with "suck on my balls", Thank You. That moment was paid out that went down in history. This is what we want, maybe enough local people to bring back to the magic of music with what the prep band did with mint condition like they started off with in history. So, all this from regular peoples opinions, not for die hard black excellence. In which bad opinions was presumably considered good for media. Like someone said she made millions but when you say someone is fake about it from their true intentions not vilified, you hating again. Peoples desperation make her want to own it. That has brought out her ego of insecurity from regular people opinions to using regular people as striving pawns; with her PR props as a billionaire. She did exactly what I needed, to try to bring back some magic with her expertise in trolling from peoples data. People wish on u tube, was to bring back most of our strong build nostalgic in songs. So for right now we have comedy with this new age of oppression. Beyonce post it, trolled it to shun it. For her team that in fact trolled in defense about her defense. Then shunned the black community on another black woman from her before hand fans only to give back herself the shine to the black community for a coachella first black lady in history status, DE-lusional. Beyonce own hate is spreading, from regular peoples intellect of opinions to placing herself as the one true star to own black peoples psyche. So her mesmerizing performance make people forget with the pawns she made who gave the magic, then it's the hater's fault.

I wanted to see all 5 of the girls; oh well nothing new......

Anonymous said...

After Post Malone was done, whyte people was departing. They think Beyonce is racist on some real pro-black agenda, so they cut the screen quick to the coachella screen at a longer pause. Then when it came back it was all black people. The Carters smart enough to know white people will tear you down quicker than black people with their racism. So, they are back to black, but sheepish black people think other black people is actually the one tearing their own agenda, SMH

When someone makes people behave in unbecoming ways with one another, just by their very presence, we think they are & we usually label the misbehaving parties as "pressed".

But the way Beytrain is able to have people ready to kill each other -who do not even know her or the person whose neck they are coming for- something in the milk ain't clean.

A great performance to hide brain washing & mind controlling agendas to keep us on some ignorant haterade nonsense. Kanye ain't the only #sunkenplacenegro...

We benefit by allowing our emotions to create harmony & prosperity in our lives. By fighting over these devils, we become their food. It's called LOOSH. Your energy is harvested; while you are trying to figure out why you are so tired & can't make ends meet, it is because these negative entities (a la Sascha Fierce & Hov) are eating off of you & I dont mean just your wallet.
