LisaRaye and Ray McCoy

There's this great book out called "Daughters of Men" by Rachel Vassell. It's full of portraits of African American women and their dads. Sanaa Lathan and her dad are in it, Meagan Good and her dad, Tischa Campbell and her dad, you get the picture. Anyway, one of the portraits is of LisaRaye and her father David Ray McCoy, and though she looks really pretty on her picture LisaRaye also looks really sad and old heads from Chicago know why. In 1988 LisaRaye's pops was found shot and killed in the back seat of his Cadillac in a Southside Chicago alley, LisaRaye was 22 years old at the time. Ray McCoy, a savvy Southside millionaire, owned a string of motels and nightclubs and loaned money to hundreds of people who wanted to start their own businesses. The mystery of Ray's murder gripped the city. But as it turned out Ray, who at age 52 was a paraplegic, was killed by his 32 year old live-in girlfriend and her 20 year old brother after they got into an argument over a high electric bill and who should rake the leaves.

Lil Wayne Sued Over Car Customizations

Go and pay your bills little duffle bag boy. Lil Wayne is being sued by this guy in California for $80,000 over restorations on his 1999 Bentley. The dude, LeMarck deAndre, says Wayne promised to pay him at least $120,000 to repair and refurbish his 1999 Bentley Arnage but after paying him $78,000, Wayne refused to make any further payments. Bobby Brown Gets Nothing in Divorce from Whitney Houston

Remember last May when Bobby and Whitney's divorce became final and because he had signed a pre-nup, Bobby didn't get any alimony and then because he didn't show up to the hearing didn't get visitation with Bobbi Kristina either and then he filed an appeal to throw out the first judgment? For whatever reason Bobby didn't show up for his January 4 appeal hearing so his motion has been denied. Said court spokeswoman Carole Levitsky, "As of now, there are no more pending court dates in this case." No alimony. No visitation.

Shaquille O'Neal Taxi Cab Confessions

A Miami cab driver told Steppin' Out magazine, "Every time Shaq is in town, I get the call, and let me tell you: He's got more women leaving his hotel room then any celebrity I've ever seen. Every time he stayed at the Marriott in South Beach, he had a blonde or a brunette with him."

Jay Z Leaves Def Jam

In case you haven't heard, over the holidays Jay Z quietly stepped down from his position as president of Def Jam Records. Now sources say he did it because he was tired of being tied down. "Jay is focusing on opening five more 40/40 clubs. He opened Las Vegas on New Year's and up next are LA, Miami, Chicago, London and Houston. He's also looking for hotel space in New York. He wants to open a chic, boutique hotel called The Jay. He just didn't have time to be president of Def Jam."

Michael Vick Might Get Out Early

Here's Michael Vick's mug shot. Isn't it creepy? Anyway, your boy might be out of prison in about a year. One of the reasons he got 23 months in the first place is because he tested positve for weed after he pled guilty to the dog fighting charges. So Mike applied for this prison-monitored drug rehabilitation program in Leavenworth, Kansas and got accepted. Under the program, he could be released after serving only 12 months of the 23-month sentence he was given Dec. 10.

Queen Latifah, Jeanette Jenkins and Jenny Craig

Queen Latifah just agreed to endorse Jenny Craig. A good look, right? I mean, who wouldn't want to get paid to lose weight? The alleged problem is, folks say Queen's long time trainer, Jeanette Jenkins, feels stabbed in the back. They say Jeanette, who's trained Terrell Owens and Taryn Manning, believes if Latifah would endorse her program, "The Hollywood Trainer: 21 Day Total Body Workout" that it would take her career to the next level.
