Legal Victory For R Kelly

R Kelly appeared briefly in an Illinois courtroom today where the judge ruled that a child therapist could not testify at his trial on behalf of the prosecution...
R Kelly is charged with video taping himself having sex with a girl who may have been as young as 13 years old at the time. A 20-year-old female witness, the one purported to be in the video, has testified that she is not the one on the tape. Dr. Sharon Cooper, a forensic and developmental pediatrician, was all set to testify that such denials aren't uncommon for child-abuse victims. But Judge Vincent Gaughan denied the request after the defense successfully argued that there was no Illinois precedent for letting someone question a witness's credibility in such a way. Kelly has another court date set for March 12 and his trial, which has been delayed for five years, is scheduled to start May 9. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
