Deadly Mix of Prescription Drugs and Alcohol Suspected in Whitney Houston's Death

In the hours following Whitney Houston's death reports that the singer had been found submerged in her hotel bathtub gave rise to rumors that Whitney had possibly drowned.

However, new information suggests the culprit was more likely a deadly mix of prescription drugs and alcohol...

Whitney Houston's autopsy is complete and the L.A. County Coroner has determined there was not enough water in Whitney Houston's lungs to drown and that she likely died before her face became submerged.

Toxicology reports could take weeks to complete but Whitney's death appears to have been caused by a combination of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol.

No illegal substances were found in Whitney Houston's hotel room and foul play is not suspected.

Sources tell TMZ Whitney's aunt, Mary Jones, discovered Whitney's body in the bathtub. Mary had laid out Whitney's dress for the evening on the bed and the left for about a half hour. When Whitney didn't come out of the bathroom, Mary entered, pulled Whitney out of the tub and began administering CPR.
