Brandy Breaks Down Over Murder Taunts

In December 2006 Brandy Norwood slammed into the back of 38-year-old mother Awatef Aboudihaj on an LA freeway going 65 mph after failing to notice traffic had slowed down.

Awatef Aboudihaj's car spun into traffic and was hit by another vehicle and she later died from her injuries.

No charges were ever filed against Brandy after an investigation by LA County prosecutors found insufficient evidence to charge her with manslaughter.

Last night on Behind the Music Brandy opened up for the first time about the fatal car crash and how it deeply effected her life...

Brandy tearfully tells VH1,
“I would hear what people would say, and still to this day they know that that’s a button. They know that they can call me a murderer or call me someone that killed someone. They know that is a button for me. A murderer is someone who premeditates it. I didn’t wake up that day to be involved in a fatal car crash. I didn’t plan for that. And if I could take it back, I would.”
"I just wanted people to know that this wasn’t news. It’s not something that should be talked about like it’s gossip. You don’t like me? Fine. But don’t use this situation to try to hurt me, because the guilt of being involved is enough. It’s something that I’ll never truly, truly get over. Ever.”
"Regardless if it was my fault or it was not my fault, I was involved in something that cost someone their life. Whoever fault it was, I was in it."
