It's one thing to read a contract and another to comprehend what you've just read. Yes, this is where lawyers come into play, but you still need some semblance of comprehension skills.
ReplyDeleteNot saying you have to read a novel in your spare time, but reading encompasses our everyday lives. Not knowing basic fundamental reading and writing skills could hinder you from getting a job and understanding important personal documentation that you will encounter on a daily basis, i.e. road signs, road maps, etc. Each state in the union has a free literacy program. People should take advantage of it.

I understand where your coming from though because most fem-queens prefer sex, ass-shaking, glitz & glam over actual musical talent & substance. The problem isn't "basic R&B", it's the fact that the public hasn't really gotten REAL R&B since the late 80's/early 90's. When a Real R&B Vocalist is signed (which isn't very often) they're given shitty songs, even shittier production & little to no promotion.
