Ed Sheeran Sued for Copying Marvin Gaye


Pop star Ed Sheeran is being sued for copyright infringement by the partial owners of R&B icon Marvin Gaye's hit single "Let's Get It On..."
 
According to reports Structured Asset Sales have filed a lawsuit against Ed Sheeran claiming his smash hit single "Thinking Out Loud" is a complete rip off of "Let's Get It On."

The lawsuit claims Ed copied the melody, rhythms, harmonies, drums, bassline, backing chorus, tempo, syncopation and looping.

Structured Asset Sales, who own 1/3 of "Let's Get It On", is seeking $100 million in damages.

Fun Fact: Ed Sheeran was forced to add Kandi Burruss and Tiny Harris to the credits of his hit single "Shape of You" after fans called him out for copying "No Scrubs [click here if you missed that]."
