Jussie Smollett Blindsided by Empire Fate?

Last week news leaked that Empire stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard wrote a letter of support for Jussie Smollett begging Fox execs not to fire him after prosecutors decided to drop all 16 charges filed against him for staging a hate crime hoax in Chicago [click here if you missed that].

Their plea may have fallen on deaf ears...

From Star Magazine
Though no official announcement has been made regarding whether Jussie, 36, will still be part of the cast, should Fox renew the series for a sixth season, Star has learned that he’ll be written off - much to his surprise.
“Jussie thought he’d get to ride it out,” says an insider, adding that the actor has allegedly had private meetings with creator Lee Daniels and begged not to be killed off the show. “He thinks he’s way too important. Jussie always felt the show would send an important message to the world if his character, the gay son, continued the family’s legacy. Being written off wasn’t anything he ever imagined.”
