Emory University Hospital Brushes Off Dennis McKinley False Arrest Claims

This week The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Porsha Williams' baby daddy Dennis Mckinley accused an Emory University Hospital security officer of falsely accusing him of stealing a $4 sandwich and injuring his wrists while detaining him for over 30 min [click here if you missed that].

Emory University downplays the incident...

Reps for Emory tell Us Weekly,
“an Emory Police Department officer detained an individual suspected of not paying for an item. Once the officer learned the individual had purchased it, he was released.”
Dennis lit into Emory after the statement was released.

WOW THIS IS WHAT EMORY @emorypolice TOLD @usweekly ...that it? @miketsterling responds I’m at a loss for words 👉🏽“Emory’s response is clearly the response of privilege. The privilege of someone completely out of touch with the reality of what that harrowing experience was like for Dennis. It is a response that does not recognize the pain and anguish of being profiled, despite your personal accomplishments and standing in society; they don’t understand what it’s like to be viewed as a criminal for no reason at all, except how you look; they don’t understand what it’s like to be falsely accused of something you did not do; publicly humiliated for no reason at all; handcuffed like a criminal; detained without provocation; and completely frightened to death that you could be shot by an overly aggressive police officer over a $4 sandwich. Are you kidding me Emory. This type of indifference by Emory just made the experience all the more painful. This is shameful.“ #goingtothedoctorwhileblack #Emory

What prompted the hospital police to even question if he had paid or not? What would make them assume he had stolen it? Was it merely the color of his skin that would lead them to suggest he had stolen a sandwich? Or was it something else? Emory should answer those questions.

ASAP Rocky can't relate to Dennis's struggle!! ASAP would never eat a sandwich in Soho let alone Atlanta !! Dennis should switch to avocado toast and chia seeds.

I live really close to Emory. I went jogging on the campus one day and have never come across a less friendly college campus. I'd even thought of going there for grad school, but I read too many online reviews of how cold, elitist and uppity the campus is. Based on what I've seen over there, I believe it. The school is primarily Asians and privileged white kids. You stick out like a sore thumb being Black over there.

My sister graduated from Emory. It's a bunch of rich kids but she enjoyed her time there.

I don't know what to say half of me thinks he's making a big deal out of nothing but reading these comments on how Emory is portrayed makes me believe there's some truth to his rant.

I'm right there with you. A part of me thinks Dennis is trying hard to grab him a spin-off or at the very least a peach of his own, But when I read about the racial climate around Emory's campus I kinda beleive him.

If you would see your psychiatrist and take your meds on a regular basis, your rotten brain might be able to think more than half way.
