Bahamian Evacuees Removed From Rescue Ship


Last week a category 5 hurricane made landfall on the Abacos islands in the Bahamas leaving 70,000 homeless and countless missing and feared dead [click here if you missed that].

Last night Bahamian evacuees headed to Florida on a cruise ship were removed for not having visas...

According to reports more than 100 women and children were removed from a cruise ship last night after being told the visa requirement to enter the United States would not be waived.

To apply for a visa residents must go to the Island of Nassau and complete a process that can take up to three months. Meanwhile there is no electricity or running water in the Abacos islands and most of the buildings have been flattened.
