Damon Dash ordered to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars after losing a lawsuit...
According to reports Damon Dash has been ordered to pay author Edwyna Brooks $300,000.00 after she sued him for trying promote and sell a movie based on her books long after he was kicked off the project.
Brooks claims she hired Dame to direct a movie based on her "Mafietta" book series, but instead he used her time, money and resources for his side projects, including filming a music video. After she fired him Dash continued to claim co-ownership and put the film up for sale on iTunes and his website.
This week a judge sided with the plaintive and awarded her a $300,000.00 judgement.
Dash has vowed to appeal the ruling.
