Dr. Dre to Pay $100 Million in Divorce Settlement

Last year music producer Dr. Dre's wife Nicole Young filed for divorce after 24 years of marriage [click here if you missed that].

The divorce has been settled and Nicole cleaned up...

According to reports Dre will pay Nicole $50 million this year and $50 million next year.

Dre gets to keep seven real estate properties and Nicole must move out the home in Malibu where she has been staying since filing for divorce, but will keep several luxury cars, jewelry and bank accounts she maintained during the marriage.

The couple share two adult children.

Well, come to find out he is not a billionaire but really has $182.7 million in cash, $6.3 million in stock, and $269.2 million in property. She's getting $100 million of that estate in cash from his liquid assets. Which will still leave him pretty comfy with 82.7 million in cash, stock, and property if the housing market is okay. Both are still very wealthy.

I guess we all learned that Forbes inflates numbers because he was nowhere near billionaire status, and although his Beats by Dre is very lucrative, it is not billionaire lucrative. There is most likely a hidden figure making the real money.I bet Jay Z is worth less than Dre because Dre's Beats sell constantly but he is still not a billionaire which means Jay and Kanya most likely aren't either, nor is Kylie or Rhianna. Those rappers and entertainers are not doing multi billion dollar deals that would bring them enough wealth to take in that amount of money. Billionaires typically have a set product that sells 20 and 30 years non-stop like Microsoft or a business everyone uses like Walmart. So, these people are not Walton status. Business people build for generations before they see the benefits.

After taxes, she has to pay her own lawyer and purchase a new house. She will be okay.

There is a difference in what Dre makes to take home, and the stakeholders share of the money.

@1:02

Facts! I'm just a 9-5'er and there's a huge damn difference between my net and my gross. And I guess when you're dealing with millions and lucrative billion dollar deals (that pay out over decades), there's an even bigger difference between what's reported, verses, what you actually take home in liquid form.

I'll admit, I definitely thought that amount was low - and noticed most blogs saying Nicole lost, or how the $100 million is a 'drop in the bucket' for Dre - when the reality is, Dre ain't as (liquid) rich, as reported. And just like @1:02 pointed out, if Dre's liquid capital is that low (under $200 million - which is still good - but not good enough for billionaire status), with all his music and business deals, then, imagine how broke Jay, Beyonce, Diddy, etc are...and, really, I'm talking about Jay/Bey. We all know they use each other's wealth (as well as DC's albums) to inflate their wealth and success. So, if they're reported at $500-$800 million TOGETHER, then the net is probably more like $50 million in liquid smh.

@2:55, Yes, it's still a wonderful and luxurious lifestyle, but in order to have billions you have to have a vast portfolio of businesses that run 24/7, not just a trendy clothesline, drug store perfume, makeup, or album sells. The Waltons are billionaires because 50 plus years ago their dad started a business (Walmart) that they never stopped running, that grew & expanded, and that they keep open 24/7. It's not easy to get to even 1 billion, it takes a team and years of work. Even the Rothschilds didn't start out rich, they just knew how to transfer generational wealth and let it grow, they also understand finance.Black folks like to show off wealth while YT folks hoard it.

You will never see a billionaire wearing Fendi or Gucci or anyone's label on their person. If Micheal Jackson owned half of Sony's catalog, worked since age 10, had global success with over 40 years in the business, but wasn't a billionaire, then none of these folks are. Now, if someone really wants it, they can reach it, but like you said, net is not gross. Lol

If you win 1 million, the gov immediately takes 25% off the top before issuing the check, and they hit you again at the end of the year. They take about 40% from lotto winnings. You might get 600,000 if that. So, there are so many catches that eat up the money before it reaches you, and the system is rigged to help one group of men, but if you learn the system, just maybe there is a chance to be a billionaire like Robert Smith, Bob Johnson, or Oprah, but notice we only have 3. There are a lot of factors and unless you have gold reserves like the Queen, or finance entire countries like the Rothchild's, you really just have pieces of paper that are called I.O.U's. Gold and land is money, and real estate is also money if it makes you money, not if your just paying taxes on it.

He loves to constantly throw up the baphomet hand signs, I guess that's the gang he rolls with now. He throws that shit every chance he gets. He better get his ignorant ass mind right, especially when he had a stroke and could have been out here in a snap of a finger. Leave that demonic shit alone!

Anyone with any sense know all those projected numbers on wealth are just that projections. Forbes or any other financial reporting site or publication estimate values of properties using consultants like for real estate worth a broker who deals in like properties who rely on comps so that number is ever changing we all know stock prices are also are also changing sometimes on a daily basis as for business a formula is used usually 5 times annual sales so a business that generates 100 million a year is valued as a 500 million dollar business and in the case of "rappers" like film directors, authors and the like they also project how much anything they own the intellectual property rights to in part or whole as part of their wealth this is true for Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Warren Buffett, Missy Elliot, Ted Turner, Jimmy Iovine, Mark Cuban, Oprah and so on so save the WS conditioning speak that only rappers this and that its the same formulas for all wealth people (how their wealth is estimated) and in the words of jiggaman why yall in that barrel anyway that aint your natural habitat

@5:36, In comes your beans and weenies eating @$$ trying to cape for people who'd keep walking if they saw your musty behind coming. "Jiggaman" as you call him would've mushed your head in front of everyone like he did an innocent Black woman on camera, and so be more selective about who you admire. At no time did I insult anyone. I was having a conversation, but because you can't decipher general conversation from insults, you missed it. Just because we are not raining down compliments on celebs, you think we are insulting them. They are humans, NOT God. You may worship them but we do not. My natural "habitat" is Heaven and so you are right about that part because I don't belong around anyone whose music mocks the Lord. Now go gather your missing pieces along with every point you missed. I guess your natural "habitat" is defending celebs on blogs who don't need defending.

Everyone knows that you play broke when its time to get a divorce. That man may not be a billionaire, but he ain't falling no one with only 82 million in the account after being in the game over 20 years and before digital media at that.

@6:43 I defended no one simple gave clarity to why Dre is said to be worth one thing and threw court documents was made transparent I quoted JayZ to make a point that a lot of people were expressing disappointment or in some cases jubilation in knowing what the world reports someone is worth is actually a lot less and again who goes to court and puts everything out front when someone is attempting to separate them from what they have usually no one smart enough to make it easy for the person attempting to separate them from what they have I know it upsets you that someone took the time to share with others the workings of how information is accumulated and projections arrived at sorry to interfere with your chance to tear down someone else to make you feel better about your feeling of inadequacy most probably thought great I see why the numbers didn't add up to what we hear all the time in the press what I shared still didn't make him a billionaire but it gave thinking people a chance to see what is and why what is said in the press is said and its never how we believe it is you shouldn't be so angry its bad for your health for many reasons as Bobby McFerrin said.........BE HAPPY afterall if he has it or not if his wife got enough of it or not none of it makes your life any better or any worse....well i guess it could make your life a bit better for a minute or two by being entertained with the story but for sure spewing hate and raging about will definitely cause you emotional unbalance, maybe lead to stress , ulcers, high blood pressure, road rage, who knows you might go home and get into it with your significant other and a neighbor calls in a domestic and you end up catching a hate crime.
