WENDY Williams' ex-husband Kevin Hunter has demanded the troubled former TV host attend divorce court in person after she vanished from public life.
New filings from Wendy and Kevin's divorce, obtained exclusively by The U.S. Sun, show Kevin has argued her New York-based guardian, Sabrina Morrissey is not allowed to represent her in the New Jersey court.
Additionally, the judge on the case has given Sabrina 21 days to prove to the court that she has the authority to represent Wendy, 60, in the Garden State.
In a filing in July, Kevin argued that Wendy's guardian is not an attorney barred in New Jersey, and he questioned her right to represent the former TV host.
Kevin, 54, wrote in the filing, "Ms. Morrissey’s 'pro se' representation of Ms. Wendy Williams is akin to practicing law without a license as she is neither a barred attorney, nor a Guardian appointed by a New Jersey Court."
Kevin continued, "It is conceivable that, based on the history of Ms. Morrissey as it relates to allegations of malfeasance regarding persons that she is the Guardian of in New York, that Ms. Wendy Williams may not need a guardian according to the laws of the State of New Jersey."
Kevin then requested that the court order Wendy to appear on her own behalf, despite not being in the public eye for over a year.
"The Defendant further asks that the Court order the Plaintiff Wendy Hunter to appear before the court herself.
"Ms. Morrissey is an attorney in New York, not New Jersey and though she claims to have been appointed as a Guardian in New York her Guardianship does not extend to this court as there is no Guardianship established in New Jersey."
Kevin took issue with Wendy's guardian, Sabrina, continuing to represent the host in their divorce, and added, "The Defendant asks that the court sanction Ms. Morrissey and prohibit her from appearing in court as a 'Pro Se' Litigant.
