Touring rapper Drake has seemingly taken a swipe at a couple of his former romantic partners after they gleefully took the stage at Super Bowl LIX in support of musical headliner Kendrick Lamar — a.k.a the Canadian’s nemesis.
With ex SZA singing to Kendrick’s tune during the half time show, and former fling Serena Williams crip-walking to his beats, the whole world was locked into the rap beef that has been playing out in real time.
Kendrick’s Grammy-award winning 2024 hit Not Like Us is arguably the most penetrative shot fired in Drake’s direction to date, and he was only too happy to perform it at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans where the game was played.
But it wasn’t the Californian who drew Dake’s ire on Monday night.
Video surfacing from the Canadian’s second show in Melbourne appears to depict him slamming his “exes”, albeit without mentioning them by name.
“If you ever, in your life, gave your time, gave your energy, gave your money, gave your heart, gave your soul, gave everything that you ever had to somebody, and they f***ing played with you and wasted your time, wasted your money...,” Drake began the rant.
“I want you to all to turn up to this song. This for all y’all exes and everybody think they can play you in their f***in’ life!
“If you doin’ better than your ex, I wanna see you f***in’ turn up!”
He ended the impassioned tirade by telling the DJ, “now you can play the song!”
The rapper added a quick “yes” before fittingly launching into his 2023 track You Broke My Heart.
SZA has collaborated with Drake on tracks Rich Baby Daddy and Mr. Right Now, and dated the star in 2008.
The rapper was also romantically linked to 23-time grand slam tennis champion Williams in 2011 and 2015. But it appears the pair didn’t end things amicably.
