Will Smith Explains Why He Passed on D'Jango Unchained

Actor Will Smith, who was banned from the Academy Awards on the night he won the Oscar for, "King Richard" after slapping awards show host, Chris Rock, on live TV [click here if you missed that], claims he passed on the titular role in the movie 'D'Jango Unchained' because he couldn't connect to violence being the answer...

And yet you hopped up onstage to slap Chris Rock on national tv in a tuxedo. Nah Will, you didn't want the public to see you outside your Fresh Prince act.

^ Right! Violence ain't the answer unless you slapping another Black man.

The irony of this is hilarious.

I'd love to sit down with Sam L. and have a conversation about what he thinks about what Will is saying. Bet he'd be funny.

Will!! Really N***a?!!! To literally resorted to violence and slapped Chris Rock on live television in front of the world and then have the audacity to stay you couldn’t do a movie role because of violence… make it make sense!

Nobody on this panel had the balls to check Will for his bs story?!! NOBODY 🤷🏽‍♂️

Will Smith and Drake should collaborate

I don’t see the problem. He doesn’t want to be an actor who promotes violence, especially violence by Black men, but he’ll slap a mufuka silly if they speak ill on his wife one time too many. I’m here for this.

^ I see your point. Not that it's right but Chris has been trolling them for years without cause. Will is human and he snapped.

Will has been slapping people FOR YEARS. 💯Google it. Chris wasnt the first time it happened in public.

Him and Duane were out anx he slapped a reporter. Its on film years before Chris. Like Jada has said, the Will he portrays and the Will he actually is, is 2 DIFFERENT people.

This is an old interview. Will has aged a lot since then.

He SAID!! He doesn’t agree with avenging violence with violence, idiots. And considering how we have grown up with violence in how ninjas respond to a woman getting assaulted/shot simply because she didn’t say hello what he did was nothing in comparison. He manned up and didn’t tolerate the disrespect cause what you’re not going to do is do in in my face when my woman clearly didn’t like it. It wasn’t about him. It was about her.
Also, that reporter was trying to kiss him and yes he smacked some sense into him. It wasn’t even a hard slap. I don’t know any real grown ninja that would allow another man to walk up to him and kiss him being okay with it.
Chris weak azz been talking slick for years about Jada and it’s obvious you all loved it but Big Willy said NOT ON MY BIG NIGHT! The first Oscar he gets and Chris wants to clown this man’s wife for everybody to see.
Y’all are really corny and jealousy is a heck of a disease.

Name a comedian that sits and talk crap about his friends wife/woman in his friends face on a stage other than Chris.

Name 1! You can’t! They talk about the men like when they joke about Shaq’s mannerism and the way he talks, not his woman. Jamie Foxx talked about JLo in his standup but not in his face. Dave Chappelle talked about Candace, maybe for good reasons but not in her face. Even the white dude, Gary doesn’t cross that line with his friends woman.
Eddie doesn’t do that shyt! Kevin doesn’t do that shyt.
Mofo’s talking about ‘He wouldn’t have slapped me’. Do you talk about your homeboy’s woman in her face on a national platform! NO! And you wouldn’t so shut up!

@9:31am. You’re right. This interview is from 2016 and here’s the full video.

And 10:36 am is right, too. That snipped from “X” is a misrepresentation of what Will was saying.

And Chris still deserved that slap.

Will is saying violence begets violence and that violence is not the answer to violence. I don’t agree with him and especially for the film, Django Unchained. Django Unchained is the first movie I ever saw where someone went through hell to save a Black woman.

Are there any other movies where someone makes sacrifices to save a Black woman/women? If so, please tell me the titles so I can go find them. Thank you.

Wrong. CR was NOT the Awards show host unless he was 1 of the 3 women who hosted the Oscars that night WS won.
If you gonna report the story get it right.
